Strained oblique. Per everyone on Twitter.
Not ruled out entirely for Opening Day.

It's OK, it's OK I have picked up Vinnie Pesto off waivers on my fantasy team.

This spring just keeps getting better and better.
In more uplifting news, there's this article written from phillies' perspective about how among other things tribe was minutes away from trading for Schilling in 2000 until he quashed it. The gist of the article is about how Phils shouldn't let themselves go to pieces like Tribe did, but most depressingly ends on a "cheery" note saying in effect, "we have a lot more money than they did, so that shouldn't happen to us."

Then there's this: While we're all pulling for Derek Lowe to show he still has enough left to be a solid starter & provide veteran leadership, apparently he's telling Boston writers how much he want to join the Sawx next year. Gettin' a little ahead of yourself, aren't you buddy?

Much ado about nothing. What's Lowe supposed to tell a Boston reporter while at his friend Tim Wakefield's retirement ceremony?
Reporter: "Derek, you want to come back to Boston?"
Lowe: "Absolutely not, why would I?"
No reason to read anything in to this.

Did he strain it reaching for a cupcake?

True enough. Like the whole Lebron thing -- nothing really there. Just sort of a punctuation mark on a pretty crappy first week what with Grady injured, now Perez right out the gate.

It's a recurring injury from when the Romans pierced his side with a sword.

Gladius.
CDT calls swords gladius..es.. or is it gladii...gladiae??
Gladius is the singular. I know that for sure.

They pierced his side with a spear. Not a swordius.

I didn't like the way spear and pierced sounded so close together so I wrote sword. If we're going to be pedantic it was actually a lance.

Just hope he is back by opening day, he is a massive part of our improvement since the All Star break in 2010.
We are has a lot of injuries to key players the last 2 years, imagine if we have a good run.
