No, he's not. His bat has potential, but his recieving skills behind the plate are simply not there yet. He was a 3B in Taiwan before he came over to the states and has really only been behind the plate for a few years. He has a good arm, but his release can get sloppy at times which allows guys to run on him that shouldn't really be able to. He needs at least another year in MiLB before he can even be a below average defensive catcher at the MLB level.
I like his bat, but he didn't exactly set the world on fire for Akron last year. Solid, but not spectacular. No reason to rush him to the majors ahead of schedule with Santana and Marson on the big club.
