Royals deal for SP Jonathan Sanchez

Deal Melky for him and a AA arm.

Good deal for both teams. If the Royals find a way to piece together a solid rotation (this is a good start), they could be the future of this division w all those solid young bats.

Like the move for the Royals in the sense that they have plenty of offense and future prospects that made Melky expendable.

Not sure what to think about Sanchez. Good K numbers in a league where the pitcher hits, but his 1/1 FB to GB ratio isn't going to help him in Kauffman. Spacious OF, good XBH park, ball really carries in the summertime. Factor in his control problems. Could give up lots of multi-run innings.

Another LHP the Indians won't be able to hit, but I'd expect regression from him coming over to the AL and a decent hitters park.

I've always liked Sanchez. I think the Royals did a good job selling high on Melky.

I like the trade a lot for the Royals. While I knew the hype about them early on last year was a little premature and overblown, I think they may have finally figured this thing out. I expect them to be more competitive next year. Especially if they can find a way to add another SP. Chen and Paulino were good down the stretch but it seems tough for them to count on them again. Duffy and Hochevar have been wildly inconsistent. Jeff Francis is a fungus.

Its a good no risk/high reward move for them. Sanchez has nasty stuff, its just a question of if he can be consistent throwing strikes. If he can..Look out......and if he cant...well Look out.

The absolute last thing this division needs is for the Royals to get ANY kind of pitching help. That lineup is going to be scary enough as it is.....a consistent rotation could settle KC in the top for years.
