End of the DiaTribe?

Unread postby bookelly » Tue Oct 04, 2011 8:03 pm

If this is the end, I would like to thank Paulie C on an outstanding job. Your by a far stretch the best Indians sportswriter I've ever read and will be sorely missed.

Cheers!

I don't read his blog (how DO you guys find time to read all the sports stuff you find on-line???) but he's taking a break from his blog. If you want to read it click here: http://www.thediatribe.com/

To save you time here's the important line (from his personal viewpoint): "Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to step away from this place for a while."

Yep (and I agree with Am I here Again- look it up or read the column posted here Sunday fer God's sake) Lazy bastards. ;-) ;) :

It's a long season, Paul has 3 kids under 5, a new house, a wife, a life and a career. Sometimes you need to chill out and writing (especially when it ain't for your career even if you're one of the top 2 Tribe writers out there) becomes a drain. A huge drain.

Unfortunately for some PC also has his priorities straight. His kids and family are growing and he wants more of his time in front of them and not his computer.

Hopefully he finds a balance and can give us something each week. If he can, awesome, if not? Well, dude's still one of the very best people I've met. Not just here, anywhere.

My bet? Way too much Tribe blood and passion and we see a weekly something. Not 3 weekly somethings. I'm hoping.

Best wishes Paulie C. Those kids grow up too darned fast...enjoy them while you can. You won't regret your decision.

So I go on a week vacation, somewhat unplugging from the interwebs, and come back to this today. Great. Googily. Moogily.

Our little Pat Tabler is all growns up.

Being the packrat I am, I wanted to share this email I received April 9, 2005, with everyone. Sent to 11 buddies. Where it all began.

From: Paul Cousineau
Sent: Saturday, April 9, 2005 11:48 AM
Subject: Attn: Friends of the Feather

After reading the atrocious coverage on the Tribe in the PD for far too long, I've decided to put a pen to paper, so to speak, on the Indians.

Check it out a www.clevelandtribeblog.blogspot.com

Too much time on my hands? Perhaps. But at the very least, there are links to all of the pertinent websites that cover the Tribe.

The answer to the question of what the logical extension of a Little Indians Fan Club lifer has finally been answered.

Tribe '05, this is my team.
I don't think I'm ever more "aware" than I am right after I hit my thumb with a hammer.

PC,
Incredible work. Best stuff on the Tribe out there. Thank you. Chill, take some time. Do it at your "leisure" . Otherwise , best wishes and continued success.

I found out about TCF by reading The DiaTribe, (when Paul C. was "Pat Tabler")

I've always been awed by how prolific he has been. And anyone who has ever written a blog knows you just have to take a breather from time to time. With three kids that young, I'm amazed he's continued it as long as he has.

When you're ready to go again, Paul, we'll be back reading.

Naw Goog, never wanted to put the time in it would take to develop my writing skills beyond my pure bidness skill set I currently have.

That said, don't worry, Demetrius will do a damn good job here on the Cavs and I'll call him and idiot when he doesn't.

Plus I'd rather write about the NBA w/ just a focus on the Cavs and my gawd, the writing talent out there on blogs on the NBA blows away all other sports (baseball is real close though). It's a ridiculously impossible mountain to even stare up at, especially when you are a shitty writer like me.

Thank God. We're already exposed to enough of your mindless ramblings on here. The last thing you need is another outlet for your insanity.

One last comment: all it would need to be is basically what you already do-
reference various takes/sources and state opinions. No need to develop writing skills, or compete with what is already out there. Some would like you, some would hate you, but both would read.

I'm gonna make the jump, don't know why I changed my mind but I did.

Joining http://www.igohardnow.com/

Not signed up now, but I'll be posting as probably elastyk, maybe Lee, maybe Basket and Dribbels. Probably start posting in the next few days.

Demetrius who is writing here has been a contributer at IGHN for ages.

So I'll be there, currently the Rodman piece showing second down is really good.

(IGHN is named after Eyenga, who randomly tweeted in all caps I GO HARD NOW back before he was even getting burn)

I was wondering where "I GO HARD NOW" came from.

Looking forward to what you have to say. A little advice, try to suppress your natural inclination to sugarcoat everything the way you usually do.
