Dan Gilbert would suck his strato team dry for all the cash it was worth, then force a strato lockout to keep the money rolling in.

I'll put something up there. We should be able to scrounge up 3 players I'd think.

Question:

Are we using ONLY players who are carded to those teams? Or are we using ANY player that played for those teams?

Example: Roberto Alomar - He has cards for Toronto and Baltimore so I'm assuming he's available for both teams. Will he also be available to Cleveland because he played for them in 1999, even though he doesn't have a Cleveland card?

I'm asking now because I know they will ask on the boards.

Also, interesting observation: Some players like Jeter and A-Rod have cards from the early 2000s inculded. Wasn't expecting that.

No on the Roberto Alomar example, player has to have a card for the team you are designated.

Any players that show up when you pick that team for the dropdown in the player browser. So in your example, the Jays and O's owner could draft Robby, still making the ranked draft list crucial. Clearly, you'll want to top load it with guys that have cards for more than one team.

We are full. We picked up 3 guys from the strat boards.

What I'll do is get a randomizer run by someone at TSN and assign the teams. I'll post that here and in the thread I made at TSN.

Then, once teams are assigned I'll get another randomizer run to assign divisions.

Sound OK Rich?

12 winningest teams of the 1990's:

1 - Atlanta Braves (925-629)
2 - New York Yankees (850-702)
3 - Cleveland Indians (823-728)
4 - Chicago White Sox (816-735)
5 - Boston Red Sox (814-741)
6 - Houston Astros (813-742)
7 - Cincinnati Reds (809-746)
8 - Texas Rangers (807-747)
9 - Toronto Blue Jays (801-754)
10- Los Angeles Dodgers (797-757)
11- Baltimore Orioles (794-757)
12- San Francisco Giants (790-766)

I will get a randomizer for the teams and assign them in order to the players below. I'm going to run it on the ATG boards because that seems to get more traffic.

Final list:

1. Swerb
2. motherscratcher
3. Jumbo
4. FUDU
5. SelbyisGOD
6. GoTribe31
7. TBone
8. Madre Hill, Superstar
9. GHCS
10. LMBombers
11. Billings Ballers
12. Sphilipp8

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't pleased when I saw that.

That being said, I'm not convinced that Cleveland actually has one of the better player pools here. Some good players but no real stand out studs.

One thing I forgot, all those trades the Indians and the Giants, my SF list is LITTERED w former Tribesmen.

Burks, B.Butler, Glenallen, Cory Snyder, Chris James, K.Mitchell, Matt Williams, Kent, Bud Black, Tavarez, Mike Jackson.

SF ream sucks though. No SP over 4.9mm. After Bonds and Matt Williams, no one on O over 6mm.

AND ... Im in the throes of, by far, the worst Strat slump of my life. I couldn't win more than 70 games right now even if I was playing 10-12 teams at one time like MoScratch.

Need to get lucky on the cards.

Several Indians on the (crappy) Dodgers as well -- Paul Shuey, Cory Snyder, Orel Hershiser (though he was a Dodger first), Tom Candiotti, Scott Radinsky, Eddie Murray (pre-Tribe again), and the glorious Brett Butler. And Wayne Kirby!

My division ...

MoScratch - Plays 10-12 teams at once. Has over 13,000 posts on the Strat message boards.

FUDU - Reigning TCF Strat Champ.

Jumbo - I've had lunch with him. He's a borderline genius.

Over/under for SF Giants wins set at 66.5.

So, are we allowed to pick any ballpark, or does the park go with the team?

Swerb, when you get a chance, would you mind creating the league and posting the password here? I'll post it in the strat thread.

Here is the thread over there if anyone is interested.

Also, when setting your drafts, remember to choose a home park appropriate for where your team played.

Perfect. All I need to do is pick every player I hate, and I'm guaranteed to win this thing.

So, are we allowed to pick any ballpark, or does the park go with the team?

I assumed ballpark goes with the team, right Swerb?

Burks, B.Butler, Glenallen, Cory Snyder, Chris James, K.Mitchell, Matt Williams, Kent, Bud Black, Tavarez, Mike Jackson.

SF ream sucks though. No SP over 4.9mm. After Bonds and Matt Williams, no one on O over 6mm.

AND ... Im in the throes of, by far, the worst Strat slump of my life. I couldn't win more than 70 games right now even if I was playing 10-12 teams at one time like MoScratch.

Need to get lucky on the cards.

Have at it with that selection of Tribesmen.

Let the games begin. I'm very happy with the selection of Orioles, best part is I don't have to select that doosh Davey Johnson to manage them.

I asked for another randomizer. We'll just group the 1st 4 in the east, middle 4 in the central, and last 4 in the west. Then have someone from the east create the league.

The news just keeps getting better.

Worse off than you think, b/c IIRC the two guys from the Strat boards are in your division, and I think they're pretty good.

Seriously contemplating leaving work early and calling in sick tomorrow...I love day 1 of a new strat league.

No, keeping the park makes perfect sense. It just affects draft strategy a little bit WRT matching park strengths to team strengths and so wanted to be sure.

Just clear something up. I'm not running 10-12 teams at a time. Don't be stupid. That's ridiculous. What, am I some kind of an asshole?

I've got 8 running.

Right. Because no one noticed over the past 5 years or so.

I hope you all get carpal tunnel and your wives, significant others, life partners all find someone better than you.

Mother- I'm sure your wife and your life partner probably already have found someone better than you. They couldn't fall down in a grocery store without landing on someone better.

8 teams.... what an asshole.

Hey peek does Progressive sell Strat team insurance? You know in case something were to happen to me it would preserve the proper management and running of day to day operations of my team?

And all of you jackoffs not in the east, (for our purposes everyone not named TBone) you have to wait until the east is full before you load.

I see they offer new owners an introductory price of $14.95 for two teams. I think I might have played before, but it's been so long I don't remember. I hope they don't either!
