I think Hafner needs to use Peralta's bat in his next AB.

Could have used that with the bases loaded. But hey, at least we get 3 runs out of it. Nice consolation prize.

Nice job Jhonny. I love these guys on WTAM. Hamilton has the best home run call i've ever heard

Love the way Honny is swinging the bat. Can't wait to see him LIVE this weekend in the bandbox known as Camden.

That's the way to bounce back boys! I have to say, I really like the way this team is playing right now. I know there's a long way to go (both in this game and with the season), but in years past, this is the type of game in which we get blown out.

For the record, Cabrera made this rally possible. He pitched 2.1 gritty innings yet again. Mass props to him.

Jhonny's getting hot at the right time. Hafner's struggled minus that blast last night, Grady hasn't been lighting it up. Big time credit to Trot Nixon for getting on base yet again.

It may just be because this team is on an up streak right now, but does anyone else get that '95 feeling? Just with the way that even when we give up a couple runs, you just think "no big deal, we'll get those back in the next couple innings"?

In my opinion you could see it coming back in early August last year and we were darn good until Pronk got hurt. I like the fact we may sneak up on the teams/experts who keep picking everyone else but us in the Central.

Yeah - they are going to start docking Fultz's pay for the damage to the outfield wall padding when he pitches. All in all he didn't do badly tonight. Now the fun starts as the AARP comes in to "relieve" Fultzie.

We lose. Seriously. If this game goes to extras, we're fucked. I'd imagine Mastny would be the guy to go, but he may have to be used here, because Oldberto is looking Old.

Mastny pitched 2 innings yesterday. His max is 1, maybe 2 if he throws a single-digit pitch inning.

Oldberto and Fultz should start a magic act - you bring them in and the lead disappears. We still have no bullpen. It's frustrating. But I still like the way the team is playing and I like the fact we are on top of the AL Central. I have to stay positive.

Theres nothing worse as a baseball fan than watching a reliever get bombed, and you can't take him out cause you have a charred bullie.

In that case, Hernandez has to go another inning, Betancourt has to go the 8th, and 9th if it's still tied, and then Borowski has to come in. That's the only way it can work. I really wish Davis could have thrown strikes. We needed at least 2 innings out of him.

Again, three walks to Hafner. No one will pitch to him all year. It is apparent that if a RHed bat to hit behind Hafner becomes available, we need to go get him. Question is, will one become available and if so who and can we afford his contract or the prospects we'd have to give up?

Well, here are the top 34 free agents of 2008 (based on their WARP scores). I don't see too many available right-handed bats on the list:

1. John Smoltz (41)
2. Carlos Zambrano (27)
3. Joe Nathan (33)
4. Mariano Rivera (38)
5. Jorge Posada (36)
6. Curt Schilling (41)
7. Bobby Abreu (34)
8. Ichiro Suzuki (34)
9. Andruw Jones (31)
10. Carlos Guillen (32)
11. Jeff Kent (40)
12. Mike Lowell (34)
13. Jason Jennings (29)
14. Jake Westbrook (30)
15. Ivan Rodriguez (36)
16. Freddy Garcia (32)
17. Kenny Rogers (43)
18. Torii Hunter (32)
19. Jason Isringhausen (35)
20. Omar Vizquel (41)
21. Marcus Giles (30)
22. Eric Byrnes (32)
23. Paul Lo Duca (36)
24. Bob Wickman (39)
25. Corey Patterson (28)
26. Adam Dunn (28)
27. Scott Linebrink (31)
28. Michael Barrett (31)
29. Milton Bradley (30)
30. Jon Lieber (38)
31. David Eckstein (33)
32. Aaron Rowand (30)
33. Juan Uribe (29)
34. Bartolo Colon (35)

Milton Bradley? Ugh.

What about Miguel Tejada in Baltimore? He'd be a nice fit. Although, one of him or Honny would have to move to 3B.

At a pro-rated amount of say half, that is about $7M we'd have to pay if we picked him up. Also, we have $5M from Foulke that was "spent" sitting out there. Also, the Orioles could always pick up some of the tab depending on what we give them. Just saying and throwing out ideas.

Very bad at bat for Casey. Now 1 for 25 with WISP. Ouch. Barfield made good contact - can't catch a break. Looks like another Tums night - let's get the win.

I'm not sure that I've ever seen a club as good at drawing walks as this one has been for the past month. They haven't done as well tonight, but they seem to get on at critical times.

Why the hell can't your #2 hitter bunt? I know they walk Hafner is they bunt, but he's walked and then the go ahead run is in scoring position. That's a great scenario.
