I have to wonder if Choo can pitch. Or Shoppach the way Tim Laker used to.
Nice work Trot. What a great signing he has been.

'95...I'm telling you, this team is blessed right now. We have no business winning this game. None. and yet we win!

Absolutely no business winning this game and we pull it out. I love this team, all heart. Complete character win tonight. Props to Cabrera, Mastny, and Borowski for saving us.

That was a great ending with Dellucci chugging and Hafner out WAY in front of the pitch, but Pronk made it happen.
I really love that this team has found ways to win the tight games. If they do make the postseason, I think this experience early on helps them. I didn't expect the Tribe to win in extra innings tonight, but what a finish.

Hafner hit a pitch that nearly hitt the ground, flicked it down left field line. Dellucci running on the paly.

Hammy and Hegan sound like Hafner went after that on purpose. That seem true?

Delucci running on a full count to Hafner. Hafner swings at ball 4 and hits a dribbler down the 3rd base line, and with the Hafner shift on, the ball rolls to the outfield. It's not hit hard enough to reach the outfielders fast enough, and Delucci comes around to score.

Overbay was holding Dellucci. Dellucci ran on the pitch and Hafner reached out and hit a dribbler to LF with no one near it due to the shift towards the right. Dellucci's head start saw him tearing around 3B as the ball was fielded and he slid head-first across home ahead of any potential tag. Not sure where Hafner ended up, but it doesn't really matter.
Hafner turned shinola into gold.

I'll toss in a vote for Mike Rouse!
I'm going with the hot bat - Jhonny!
My real vote is Hafner in the 10th.
Does it count if it was the 11th?

He shouldn't have, because it was ball 4. But with his eye, he may have, because it was very low and outside. It wasn't very high off the dirt, actually. Maybe he forgot the count, just knowing that a hit-and-run was on?

Another series win in the books.
The Indians have only dropped the series against the Yanks thus far (I just knocked on some wood).
The last team that seemed to have a knack for pulling wins out of their asses like this is the '95 team and our pitching is definitely better than that team's.

If I'm not mistaken, he also got Jhonny the other night, right? What a great signing he's turned out to be so far. Not only has he performed well, he seems like he's keeping the team loose, too.

Well, now, the '95 team led the league in ERA. If this team does that, I'll be ecstatic ...
and surprised.

May have, but the pitching in the AL back in 1995 was not what it is now - that's my impression at least. Martinez and Hershiser were definitely great that year. Ogea posted a good ERA. Nagy was decent. I think this staff just "feels" better. Maybe it's just because we actually have lefties in the rotation now. I like the 'pen better too, though I'd rather have the 1995 model of Jose Mesa as closer.

Tavares was lights out in '95, and Plunk was better. Mesa automatic. I like the Tribe's pen, but that pen was great. Also, no comparison in the situational lefties.

I remember the bubblegum charades. I used to have a poster in my room. It was a painting of "the view from the stands" for the Tribe in '95, and it depicted maybe a dozen or so fans cheering. One of them had a gum bubble stuck to his hat, ala the bubblegum bandit.

Man I fell asleep! It was great to get on here this morning and see how it ended! Much better than just looking up the score! And I missed a pie in the face! bummer! I saw Peralta get nailed after the first game, that was hilarious!

Way to go Tribe!
