I'm on board with giving Poove a shot tonight. If we can't beat MIN with Masterson v. Pavano, then he's never permitted to make another game thread.
This seems like just the slumpbuster Poove's game threads need.

Ok count me in, too. I deleted the other game thread. Proove has to prove he isn't bad luck. Although Matt who desperately needs a slumpbuster LaPorta is playing 1B with his gold glove type play & Carlos lazy ass Santana is behind the plate not calling the game.
I'm still confident well pull through tonight and win by 6 runs

Watching the Indians pre-game show. Carlos Santana was asked what happened the other game with Asdrubal. He was speaking but I couldn't understand a word of it. Then Acta was asked the same question.. sounded like Don Vito Corleone. A lot better than Wedgie's grinder response.

Pre-game: Elvis impersonator sang National Anthem. On video board Jason Kipnis was straining not to laugh. Elvis was horrific.
Robbie Alomar and Bert Blyleven threw out the ceremonial first pitches. Sandy was on the receiving end of Robbie's. No truth to rumor Blyleven's was hit for a solo HR.

Big walk ups last night and Wednesday night. Averaged about 28k.
Smaller crowd tonight (right now) which is surprising given the weather is perfect and there are fireworks.

Santana's giving up runs streak now at 2.
Oops forgot about the Ubaldo game probably because that was a win, streak at 3.

One of the worst throws you'll ever see down to 2nd. Went into the OF and Revere advanced to 3rd. He scored on a single to the next batter.

Ball's getting knocked down by a pretty decent breeze. Gonna have to hit it to get it tonight.
And Carrera should have been running there.
20/22 base stealers successful against Pavano.

I hate to keep beating on Santana here, but that throw was the worst I ever saw for a Tribe player... since I've been watching the Tribe full time in 2004. I don't remember vmart/shopvach ever throwing one WIDE right like that.

I'm pretty sure it's because I tuned out a lot of bad baseball and a lot of bad years, but this Indians defense is about as I can remember a Tribe defense playing.

Maddening to see two throws like Santana's last two come after he air-mailed a ball into RCF and cost the Indians the only run of this game so far.
Two good throws. Very good. But they can't come because you suddenly found your focus after a fuck-up every night.

Kubel got fooled on that swing and then the breeze knocked it down for a hit.
Time to scrape a couple runs together here. Getting late early.

Hometown scoring on that hit for Choo. That ball ate up Nishioka.
As did that next one which, of course, landed at his feet and gave him the force play.

Hafner is lost. Totally guessing on everything again. I wonder if he's wearing down physically. He was punishing pitches based on reaction early in the year.

That could reasonably be 3 errors on Nishioka in the inning. Maybe 4.

Way to get the ump on your side Carlos. Being lazy and letting the ball hit his leg and ricochet 50 feet

If Masterson doesn't pick up the win tonight this will be his 12th start this year (not counting his rain shortened 2 inning affair) in which he's allowed 2ER or fewer and not picked up a win!
That's insane!

Gotta like Chisenhall's grown up approach of looking to take Pavano's off speed slop the other way and turning on what passes for Pavano's 'hard stuff'.
