Ubaldo has given up 2 hits and 1 run in every inning so far. He's over 70 pitches through 3. Not what we wanted. But at least we are scoring some runs.

He hasnt made to may mistakes. Just hes behind almost every hitter, so they are waiting on his fastball and hitting it. His location when he does throw a strike has been pretty decent.

Yeah, that is still a nagging question I have. Big market teams go all-in for average guys at the deadline. A guy like Jimenez would normally have had 2 or 3 of the 'haves' on his trail- it would be reported for maybe a couple weeks even. But the way it played out, people acted as though he wasn't really available, until the trade happened.

Edit- was it all about the loss in velocity thing (that's been debunked tonite)?

There's been a lot of inconsistency with the command, but you can see the flashes of brilliance. Let's see him settle down for his regular turn in the order, at home, and see what they've got.

Im thinking this was a tough spot for Ubaldo. Coming into this park, against this team for his first start, after all the BS and drama he went through his last two weeks in Colorado. Hopefully he settles down during his next start.....
