yes, it should be one great matchup. The baseball fan in me would rather see CC face off against Halladay but the Indians fan in me is glad that we won't have to face him this week. I won't be able to watch the game because my school hasn't picked up the channel but I listen to them on the radio. Maybe the radio is better than the TV though because of the great commentators on WTAM.

anyway, go Tribe and I hope CC recovers from that tough game against Texas.

I'm hoping that Burnett is just what this team needs to get fired up. We seem to do fairly well against hard-throwing righties.

A welcome home to Johnny Mac though, who had his 10-game hitting streak snapped last night. He's hitting a whopping .415 and playing pretty regularly.

Excited to see Burnett pitch tonight too. As Tripods mentioned (welcome dude), the Indians usually hit hard throwing righties well. Burnett's never really been what the Jays have expected him to be. Hes showed some signs this year after a shaky 1st start, but has had some problems with walks still.

Just heard a wow stat on the TV: Victor in 2005 and 2006 hit over .300 in EVERY MONTH of each season, except in May. In fact, his May combined average in 05/06 was .187. Wow.

Okay, actually it is his combined 2005 and 2006.....when combining the totals from each year the past two years, he has hit over .300 in each month except May.

Heh, I was just about to say that the price for Byrd just went up. If he can be solid until June or July, does someone overpay for him? Do we do a deal if they're overpaying? One could say that if he's pitching well, and we're in contention, it would not be smart to trade him. But if they're paying $100 for something that costs $69.99, especially if something we desperately need, you've gotta at least think about it, right? Decisions, decisions...

I believe the statement you made to me about JP's day/night stats last year are spot on. He seems to be seeing the ball a whole lot better.

Did you see Peralta get that pie in the face in the post game interview?!! They said it was Trot Nixon that got him. That was hilarious! They even continued to ask him questions after it happened! Dude is standing there with whipped topping (shaving cream?) all over his face....oh man that was funny!

It's all about his approach. Last year, Peralta would try and pull outside pitches and hit weak ground balls. This year, he's back to his '05 form of going to right field and right center, where his best power is.

It just amazes me how good young hitters like Peralta are still sitting fastball so often. He has to know by now in what counts he won't get a fastball, because it's been happening since late '05. In my mind, that's why his HR off that curve ball was so impressive, he may have actually been looking for it.
