Not that pitches makes a difference in winner/loser but after three Tomlin has 35. After two Weaver had 39. How is the Angels BP? Of course most ANY pitcher is worse than Weaver right now....

Josh Tomlin stat of the night.

In his first two starts of the year he walked 3 guys in each start. In the 19 starts since, including tonight, he hasn't walked more than 1 guy in any start and a total of just 9 guys in those starts.

MLB Network's Peter Gammons reports that the Indians offered to pick up all of Carlos Beltran's remaining salary, as well as give up a good player in return, but Beltran decided he didn't want to go to Cleveland.
Gammons doesn't necessarily say there was a deal in place and Beltran nixed it, but it's clear he wants to go to a team he thinks has a good chance to win a title, and he doesn't think the Indians fit that bill. The veteran outfielder has a full no-trade clause and might only waive it for the Rangers, Giants, Phillies, Braves or Brewers.

I'm hoping as the deadline nears that nobody else seriously tries to acquire him and that he either finally comes to us (although I don't really want a player who treats Cleveland as a last resort) OR he rots away with the rest of the Mets for the final 2 months and books his fishing trip for October.
