Is this just for precautionary reasons?

If I had to pick one guy to pitch game 7 it would be Masterson no doubt.

Fuck San Fran. I hate this team already. Pablo Sandoval stares down Carlos, then that shit? I hope for some retaliation. Choo looks to be hurt pretty bad, NOT GOOD.

Choo probably has some broken fingers.

So now that he's headed to the DL, who's coming up to replace him? Travis Buck again? UGH

Nailed on certainty he's broken his thumb.

Turn around Travis Buck.

Why would you want a guy who's allowing lefties to hit .317 off of him to pitch Game 7?

Masterson just can't get lefties out. If he were to face any lefty-heavy team in that Game 7, he'd have no chance. None.

And who would be the better choice? Home run prone Tomlin? Or still un-proven little CC? Not trying to be a dick. Honest question.

God Kearns is such a bum. Without Choo we have the worst OF in baseball. Seriously, only Brantley is even average right now. Grady seriously sucks these days, and the Kearns/Buck combo is worse than Michaels/Delucci ever was. If he broke it, were screwed.

You didn't have to say you're not trying to be a dick. It's a good debate.

I'd go with Tomlin or Carrasco. Tomlin might give up a HR or two (or three), but he won't walk anybody and it's almost a certainty he'll give you a chance to win. And Carlos Carrasco has the stuff to dominate and not only give you a chance but actually win you the game. Masterson's control isn't good enough and he can't get lefties out. I can't trust him in a big game yet.

If we had to win a game 7, wouldn't Little CC and Tomlin both be nervous which would equal giving up a lot of runs and throwing a lot of pitches. :hide:

Josh Tomlin? Nervous? HA! That's hilarious.

That kid doesn't get nervous. That kid is a cold-blooded killer.

The thing is coming into tonight's game lefties were hitting like .311 of him. So not much difference there. Regardless, little CC would be my second choice. Tomlin a distant 3rd( although I really like him). Its gonna be fun next year when we can throw Alex White and Pomeranz into the discussion.

That's kind of a flukey thing though from early in the year.

Last year lefties hit .193 off of Carrasco. He can get both lefties and righties out consistently. It's not a trend, it's just a blip on the radar from the early season.

With Masterson it's been the constant theme of his entire career.

Orlando Cabrera with his first 2-walk game since August 2, 2010.

And it's only the 5th inning. He could still get another! If he does get another, it'll be Orlando's first 3-walk game since September 12, 2007.

Carlos all you need it a base hit man. No need to swing for the 12 run homer.

he never has any command. He either walks you or he strikes you out.

And it's only the 5th inning. He could still get another! If he does get another, it'll be Orlando's first 3-walk game since September 12, 2007.

What if he gets a 4th :hide:

LOL

He's never had a 4-walk game.

Come on Kearns! Calling a Grand slam right here!

Was there really a need for a pitching change for Kearns?

LOL at Sanchez. Serves him right for hitting Choo in the hand. Even though it wasnt on purpose, still pisses me off. Considering how Sandoval acted when the ball got within a foot of him.
