Im convinced our slump is over

Unread postby Symbolic47 » Mon Jun 20, 2011 4:42 pm

TBQH I was worrying way more about a baseball team than any grown man should these past few weeks. But after watching the past two series, it pretty obvious the guys have woken up. There are MANY encouraging signs.

- Choo and Santana are starting to get it going. Both have been hitting the ball HARD for the past 5-6 games. And no longer swinging at garbage.

- Pronk makes a huge difference

- Little CC has come into his own. Tomlin seems to have got through his slump, and Masterson is still pitching well. Carmona cant get any worse( god I hope not). And we got Zach in AAA who will probably have Talbots rotation spot by the break.

- Our pen is friggin lights out(minus Durbin and Hermann, who we do have viable replacements for in AAA)

- Cord Phelps is looking to get comfortable, and he really hits right handers hard it seems. Kids got a quick bat with some pop. I really like him.

- Oh yea, and Pronks back! ( did I already mention this? lol)

We just need to get Grady going, and I think were primed to go on another streak. :thumb up:

I dont think they arnt looking up. Its definitely looking better than the last few weeks.

There are just a couple points im not completely in agreement with, but I do agree that the worst is over.....at least for now. Im excited to see how they play in this series and how they fare against a legit offense after the sweep of the pirates and their toothpick offense.

The slump is over and Grady is not even in the lineup today. Carmona still sucks and The Tribe will not go anywhere with him on the team. He is not our ACE or any teams ACE. Trade him now while we may get a prospect for him. Wait, maybe no other team wants to spend 6 million on a guy with an era approaching 6.

We need a win today. Dont have much faith in Talbot, especially against a good lineup.

In fairness, we have basically lost our 2 best hitters and our pitchers are batting. s

It Happens.

But they are just killing themselves. After they swept the pirates, they should have swept the Rockies and won the first 2 of the Giants series. Those teams didn't win those games, we lost them.

10-21 in their last 31 but yet still one game out of first place? Gotta be honest, I'm pretty happy with where they are.

27-47 a year ago. Don't forget that while we all bitch and moan about everything that's wrong with this team the last month.

It's painful to watch, but they can't keep playing this bad. And they have a ton of division games left once this interleague shit is over. They're in a position to control their own destiny. I take that over 27-47.

Thinking they should make a move with the hitting coach. Nunnaly is just not getting it done.

Not enough, Peeker. They need to fire Wedge. That will set the tone.

As long as they leave Hannahan alone. Guy can really pick it and is saving a ton of unearned runs. :hide:

Have you guys already forgotten about Shapiro drafting Beau Mills? If not for that, I'm not sure June happens. Can't let him skate.

And the guy gets promoted. ::doh::

LOL you guys never fail to make me laugh. Yea its way to early to call this season bunk, but man......they have to turn it around ASAP. The longer they play like this, the worse it will get. I dont mind the losing, it happens, its baseball. It's the damn boneheaded plays that have taken over this team the past 2 weeks that are killing me.

For example, Grady dropping a can of corn, then laughing about it? Cmon man, your a professional, and your team is sucking donkey balls. The last thing he should be doing is laughing about crap like that....
