Well, damn it. That was a pathetic combo of umpire help and didly poo from our 1-3 hitters. Brantley got hosed, but you cannot out the plate appearance in the hands of the umpire. Grady just flat out stinks now. He's gonna be a .240/15/50 guy. That week back from the DL the first time was nice, but that's all she wrote. Time for Sizemore, Pronk, and Carmona to slowly make their exits. Pronk would be beneficial but he'll just never find a way to not be made of glass anymore. Our three highest paid guys are just not contributing. Carmona is lost and ain't coming back. Sizemore is now just an average player and it's all due to that injury that caught him. A shame.

Guys this really sucks. I tried SO DAMN hard not to get my hopes up with this team. But that became impossible. Gah, I guess this is what we get. Regardless, the future is still bright. We still have a chance to claw our way through our putrid division, but the guys need to pull their heads outta their asses like yesterday.

Hard to imagine the offense can be this bad. Give or take, we are averaging two runs less per game pre and post Hafner. Surely that is part of it, but it seems more than that just that. Great pitchers, good pitchers, mediocre ones, and downright bad ones are shutting this team down. Everyone has talked about Choo and Santana, but I think Santana has at least been passable the last month. Choo...what in the world has happened to that guy? Something, whatever it is, is clearly not right with him. And Grady...he looks just as lost as well. Phelps has the deer in the headlights look, but that is not unexpected. He probably has a few games to show more...and if he doesn't, he will likely be back in Columbus to make room for Hafner.

Acta is really in a tough spot here because hopes were raised with the great start...heck, even I got excited about this Indians team, and I rarely get too excited about the big Tribe...even bought tickets to the entire Pittsburgh series. Need to salvage what we can in New York and then try to play the Tigers tough, but Verlander is scheduled to go in game one of that series.

Well, off to watch Pomeranz...wonder if it might be his last performance in Kinston.

Well I'll be damned. I checked the Tribe's "Probable Pitcher" list last night right before my post ('cuz I was figuring that it would be Justin but I wanted to be sure) and I swear they had Justin listed for tomorrow's game (and they were giving Carrasco a skip) and Fausto was listed for Monday. Hmmm, either I scrolled through the list too quickly or I had too much wine at that point....except I hadn't had any at yet.... My bad.
