In looking at the AL West a bit, I was stunned to see that the Eric Wedge led M's are actually above .500. Their offense makes ours look like murderer's row.

Ichiro is their top average guy at .260.

Yuck.

Aaron Laffey has a 1.98ERA, and Chris Gimenez is hitting .188

They also have two ace's. That helps things. We used to know a thing or two about that. :(

Seattle's starting pitchers have ERA's of 2.33, 3.29, 3.29, 3.46 & 3.94. You don't have to have much offense with that kind of pitching.

As always, pitching is the name of the game.
If the Dolans owned BP, they'd give promotions to everyone responsible for the oil spill.

Unless your manager is Eric Wedge.

True, but you still need to score more runs than your opponent to win. Imagine if they could hit better than .229, worst in the majors.

Team ERA is 3.36, 2nd in the AL behind Oakland (who have scored the least amount of runs in the AL).

Weird team, that's for sure. Chone Figgins is hitting .187 with an OPS of .478. .478! For $9M. That hurts.

Obviously Seattle will fall as the season goes on. As it heats up teams will start to score off them, and I HIGHLY doubt their offense can keep up. I would give my left nut to have a stud like Pineda on this staff. Masterson is pretty damn good, no doubt. But Pindea is just nasty. Living in Oregon I get to see Seattle play often, and hes the real deal. But good lord are they boring to watch. Ichiro is losing it fast it seems as well.

I see the plotline for The Hangover III in this whole thing.

Geren, the best man for Beane once again in a re-marriage situation, drugs the wedding party to spite his former boss.

Beane comes up missing and Geren, Milton Bradley and Ken Macha are forced to go look for him.

They find Kurt Suzuki tied up naked in the trunk of the car.

Barry Bonds' pet tiger is stolen.

Frank McCourt's Bentley is damaged.

Hijinks ensue.

Finally, they figure out they left Beane on the roof of the Oakland Coliseum by calculating some sabermetric doodad.
