This. The Indians organization has really been poor with this. There's only a small blurb underneath his name during his first plate appearance. I know he's only been with us two months, but it's a celebration of his career. 2000 hits is a big deal. Not as big as the other milestones, but it's still a big deal.
I can't believe the Indians haven't put up a scoreboard countdown or hung one from the parking garage walkways or something.
Pretty disgusted by it, quite frankly. Like I said, it's about respect for his longevity, not ignoring it because only 50 or so of the 2000 are as an Indian.

I've seen 3000 hits, I've seen 500 HR, 745 HR etc, but never for something like 2000 hits.

Well, I find that wrong. It's not even mentioned on the scoreboard.
My fiance hung numbers from the railing on the Home Run Porch last Saturday, fully secured, and a supervisor came over and told us that we had to take it down because "it might be shown on TV".
16 active players with over 2000 hits. 5 or 6 will get it this year.
I think it's pretty significant. Guess I'm wrong.

Oh, and he's walked 5 times in 126 PA.
He's simply not a good hitter right now.
