LaPorta swings at more garbage than any player Ive ever seen. The fact that he just doesnt sit breaking ball every time baffles me. Everyone in the league knows he cant hit a quality breaking pitch. He seems TONS of them. Yet seems to never adjust. He crushed fastballs, but thats about it.

i've flashes of his ability with the bat, but nothing from him that would suggest he's a MLB catcher.

This LaPorta guy sure is a great fielder. Where was he going as he was running 40 feet to miss the grounder? I'll never know. Lucky Ocab threw it to the pitcher covering 1B.

Cant really ship him back over to 3B either. He's a 1B now.

It's a shame too. They need him to be legit.

Jeezus this is focking pathetic! This is also the best baseball we've played since Toronto and we're still losing to the worst team in the AL.

This is the team I expected...right here.

LaPorta is another Kevin Maas. Dude can absolutely mash a fastball and when he was at Florida University, he was one of the most feared hitters in the country. I was thrilled when we got him for CC (as thrilled as I could be anyway and now looks like Brantley was the better pick). He is about as effective as Garko after 2007. That's pretty terrible.

Santana needs to be moved to first QUICKLY. Let's get a catcher now! Not Marson or Phillips or Carlin, but a real proven catcher. If you look at the potential sellers in the majors, most of them have good ones. He'll never last in baseball past age 28 if he doesn't get from behind the plate.

Choo pisses me off worse than Santana. This is supposed to be the 2nd best player from the far east. Santana is still having to learn. Choo? He should KNOW. Stop swinging at ball 4!!! Off the top of my head and this is a total guess, but I am thinking Choo and LaPorta lead the team in K's, right?

Brantley, A Cab, and then I would have to say freakin Hannahan are our three most valuable hitters right now. That's how terrible we've become offensively. Hannhan wasn;t in the lineup vs. Texas, so he just wins by default.

Guys, we're going to easily finish in 3rd place behind Det and Black Sox if we don't do something NOW.

I agree but does everyone go through an embarrassment streak after being in first place for 2 months? I've seen Indian losing streaks, but the last week of baseball that was worse than this one that I recall was in '91 when we lost 10 in a row and broke that streak with Alex Cole getting hbp with bases loaded. I am sure there were some in 2003 and 2004, but as far as PATHETIC play and stupid decisions and leaving runners on...this team is as BAD the past week as I have seen. It's magnified - yes - because they're sitting in first in June.
