Someone needs to really help him with his hitting and base running. His defense is ok!

4 outs on the basepaths. LaPorta and Orlando's WTFs and two caught stealings. Can't give up outs like that.

I love the pace of games in the post-steroid era. If Beckett wasn't going in slo-mo, this thing would be in eighth.

Dunno if Jim Ingraham attends games. ... Hoynes is 50/50 when I'm here, Bastian puts in a ton of time, AC is here often when he's not traveling to Pittsburgh/Detroit for interviews, etc and Dennis Manoloff might sleep here.

[quote]

Bastian and AC are great. Manoloff too. I've always kind of liked Hoynes- wonder why the heck he's 50/50?

How old must Ingraham be nowadays? I remember pre-Jake- he was so sour and bitter about the Tribe.

I want Beckett at 100 pitches after 6. 21 away.

Ingraham came in about an hour ago. And he must be mid 60's or so.

On Hoynes, don't know. Keep in mind I'm pretty much able to get here only a couple nights per week. So maybe he has a couple days during the week where he watches from the couch.

Asdrubal's far from selective tonight. He's just hacking. Beckett's pitching him up and his swing's too long.

Beckett's throwing well, but the approach the last 3 innings has been horrid.

They look like a different team tonight. Awful on the bases, defensive miscues. Bad approach at the plate.

Can't let it snowball in to tomorrow. Get a little momentum back tonight.

CrapOnACracker! We'd better work those ABs for high counts and get Beckett out of the game. He's at 90 pitches coming into the 7th. With the way the Bahstun BP pitches to us we'll have a better chance for a comeback if we can get to the pen.

For what it's worth, the same Dodgers advance scouts that were here Friday are here again tonight.

It's odd in that the Indians don't play the Dodgers in interleague, they don't play Boston and you'd think they'd scout the Reds in Cincy.

Pathetic AB by Santana. Hacks at the first pitch, which was ball one. Right after BOS has a 2-run HR to put us down 3. Then he gets the count in his favor and expands the zone again.

Kid's getting a reality check about The Show right now. I hope he's listening.

Why would you scout the ML team though?! Unless they'd want a guy like LaPorta in a deal

I don't think it's that. It's just the first time he's really experienced failure as a player. He's in a season-long slump really.

Minus first few weeks of his 2010 call-up, it is more of a Major League-long slump.

I hate that inning. You get a guy on second and Brantley wasn't looking to advance him. One run helps there. The tying run coming to the plate is then just a hit or walk away. Instead three straight hitters look to hit a five-run HR. boston would've given you a run with a grounder to the right side and another ground out.

Quite the all around pathetic performance tonight.

Carlod Santana is not looking good, at all. Hes lost at the plate. Looks like we got another overhyped prospect here. Him and Laporta are just so dissapointing.

Hannahan sucks as welll

I don't as a rule root for people to get injured, but if Papelbon's knee happened to disassemble while he did a jig I would be okay with that.

He has the physical tools. He just doesn't have the mindset or the knowledge yet. Still trying to learn how to balance his emotions in the big leagues. I get the impression that he has a hard time accepting coaching too.

I still think he'll be alright.
