This pretty much ends any chance of his shot at the Hall of Fame.

Owings career OPS - .852
Branyan's - .816

Just saying.

And yes, I know Owings is a pitcher.

He must have asked for his realease. Can't imagine them releasing him based on performance.

Why would he ask for his release so early in the season? Ask Jack Morris, it's not even time to harvest the crops yet so that can't be the reason. Maybe he is behind on his planting the crops and needs his release so that he can expedite things?

You're an SC Redneck from Clemson so you probably know something about this stuff..well atleast planting tobaco.

Yet he gets another gig. Now with the Angels and made the last out in today's game against Oakland.

The problem is, no one can realize this guys hall of fame potential.

Doesnt Branyan have the longest HR ever at the Jake? Or did Thome hit one further?

Had Branyan just been 10% as good as he thought he was and as he acted his HoF credentials would have been evident to anyone who watched him play.

The first time I saw him swing at an eye high 97mph fastball was when I figured The Hall was out.

Although I do seem to remember Thome hitting one out to Eagle Ave in either 95 or 96. So this may not be accurate, but was the best I could find.

For me it was more like 68th time. I'll forgive a young guy for a while. You knew right away and didn't forgive shit which makes you a far better German than I am.

It's not "far better German" it's high quality German. Far better makes me sound like half an asshole or something.

We can't have that.

Russel the Muscle reminds me of Carlos Pena in alot of ways. Except Pena has a pretty good glove which probably had alot to do with sticking around long enough.

According to FunTrivia.com(http://www.funtrivia.com/en/subtopics/Cleveland-StadiumJacobs-Field-232303.html) and Answers.com(http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_are_the_10_longest_home_runs_ever_hit_at_Jacobs_Field_and_by_whom), Thome hit one onto Eagle in 1999(Answers.com says July 4th 1999 against the Kansas City Royals/511 Ft.)
.

Though, if you listen to this clip on Amazon.com
http://www.amazon.com/gp/recsradio/radio/B00004SG8V/ref=pd_krex_dp_001_011/175-7675783-3551950?ie=UTF8&track=011&disc=001

^^Tom Hamilton said Thome hit it onto Eagle when he and Herb Score were in the booth(no date given for the audio clip though Herbs last Broadcast was in 1997), so maybe Jim Thome hit it onto Eagle Avenue Twice! ???
