Most home runs of any player in the 1960's. 21 years with the same franchise. Great power hitter. Better name.

Name like Killebrew, you gotta be able to throw back the cold ones.

Or the in and out traffic of former Chicago Bears tight end Emery Morehead's hotel room on road trips.

The Twins were always my second favorite team as a kid. They had so many likable players...but big #3 was a personal favorite. Great teams in the 60's and 70's...Tony Oliva (and later, Rod Carew) was a superstar, and guys like Bob Allison, Zoilo Versalles (won an MVP), Earl Battey, Mudcat Grant, Gaylord's brother Jim Perry, and (Parma native) Rich Rollins were just good solid players. Lots of memories of Killebrew killing the Tribe down on the lake.

Just checked this...pretty amazing factoid...Twins had four guys in top ten in AL MVP voting in '65 (and Killebrew wasn't one of them). Versalles and Oliva 1-2, Mudcat 6th and Battey 10th. (Colavito was 5th for the good guys)

IIRC, Versalles once played each of nine positions for an inning in one game.

Edit: Had to check...and my memory was (is) flawed...it was his teammate Cesar Tovar who played all nine positions in one game...in 1968.
