A really good team came into our house and basically told us that maybe we aren't as good as we think we are.

We need Grady back, and we need our 3 and 4 hitters to be hitting better than .230. I give Acta credit for sticking with his guys, but at some point he'll have to make an adjustment in the lineup if these guys don't start to hit.

Not a thing. We can't make adjustments at the plate. They're getting offspeed everything in hitters counts and either taking it for a strike or chasing it if it's out of the zone. If anything, Nunnally needs to have them in the cages without bats and working on pitch recognition.

They made a living out of 2-out hitting for a while and now they aren't getting those knocks.

It's a long season, boys. It ain't over cause we lost a series to two very good starters.

Been re-watching Band of Brothers the last week or so.

Market Garden was an epic failure. The reaction of the troops after Nixon said it was Montgomery's plan and so they were following the Brits' lead was subtle, but telling.

I was sooooooooooooo tempted to put Monty down :D Market Garden aside he secured the dominance of the Royal navy in the Mediterranean and stop the Germans from reaching the Middle East and its oil. But yeah he's not a paragon of the great military leader.

Not to hijack the thread, but Hitlers obsession with Russia stopped the Germans from reaching the oil fields, not Monty. Monty got a ton of allied soldiers killed when he pissed around and failed to close the Falaise Pocket. Then Market Garden. All this after screwing around in Sicily.

He was OK in Africa, but was fighting a guy who's heard admittedly wasn't exactly in it with Rommel.

Overall it just wasn't that great of a game for us.

Masterson didn't pitch well, two pickoffs to end innings, and not the best D from O-cab/Duncan on that bloop job that scored two more runs for the Gays. Not going to beat good pitchers making that many mistakes.

I'd say this team needs to at least win this next series to keep its pysche.

The Tribe has lost 5 of their last 9. The pitchers who beat them are:

Cahill 6-0, 1.72

That's half the A.L. All-Star staff right there, at least if they were picking the team today. The one good thing is the Tribe beat all the pitchers they faced who won't be in the All-Star game. If they can keep doing that they should be in contention all the way to the end.

Don't look now but the Tigers have tied KC for second place. VMart is back with a vengence and they're on a roll, having won 8 of 10. The Tribe needs to get back to winning 2 of 3 every series starting now.
