Choo looks like he is still drunk/hung over.

Random thought.. Perhaps Choo plays better while being drunk. Like that drunk-karate movie with Jackie Chan, who kick-ass better drunk than sober.

Cliff Lee with 16 punchouts over 7 innings. Down 3-0 and having a no hitter thrown against him through 6.

What a display.

Edit: And I jinxed the no hitter.

Hoping I don't jinx another one. Jaime Garcia of STL has a perfect game through 7...and he's at 75 pitches.

Ok boys, lets get Masterson number 6!

I see we have the A lineup back.

The Angels' throwback uniforms are awesome, they should switch full time. I'm ready for an Enrico Pallazzo national anthem, Lt. Frank Drebin to call balls and strikes, and Reggie Jackson to go after the Queen.

Not sure Choo qualifies for that this week. But maybe the hard-hit liner will get him back on track.

Odd, Masterson has faced exactly four batters each inning so far. At least they didn't get any runs. I'm hoping Masterson's next one is a simple one-two-three. And we could use a couple more runs (I figure as long as I'm asking...)

They keep just missing pitches. It's pretty cold here for this time of year, so that's not helping. Give the baby credit though, he's really pitching well.

What a gun. If we find a way to scratch out a win, remember that play.

Along with ANA's lack of scouting report knowledge on Mike Brantley in the 1st. The odds of him gunning anybody short of Mo Vaughn or Cecil Fielder are slim to none.

KC lost 3-2, to Oakland, so I can relax a bit.

I wonder how many guys are good in the pen? Might be another one of those late ones.

Manny running out of options. Hate to see it go this way, but Angels bullpen is fresh, and ours is wore out. We should've gotten more support for Masterson, but we seemed to hit them where they were.

Is Choo's arm as good as Parker's was?

KC lost, so we hold ground. We gotta hit them were they ain't tomorrow. Offense is going into a recession. We need some stimilus tomorrow. I have gotten to the point, I don't concern myself with our pitching and defense.

Alex White has to give them at least 6 tomorrow. The bullpen's gassed and there's no way that they can get Herrmann or somebody else out there by tomorrow evening.

They had no business being in that game and yet they took it to 11. I'm content with that. Resilient bunch.

Steal one against Haren/Weaver and you come back 3-3. No complaint there.

It was a pathetic effort last night and the exasperation I am feeling is compounded by the fact Masterson pitched so well and all we needed was 1 more run to take it in 9.

I have no complaints about the pitching. They gave the offense 11 innings to get their act together. And I can't blame Germano who was facing the beast of the order and he hadn't faced opposing batters in a while.

It looks like if White is getting smacked around he may have to roll with it. Or Germano and Durbin may have to pitch multiple innings each.

It's tough playing on the west coast against the two best pitching staffs in the AL with both Grady and Choo buried in slumps. We might have to settle for going 2-4 on this trip, but that's not bad because I don't see any of our competition in the Central doing better when they have to play these guys.

Everybody in the Central lost yesterday except the Twins, so the division as a whole continues to suck, except for the Tribe.

I can see the Angels in the World Series this year with Weaver, Haren, and Chatwood. Chatwood is only 21 and I expect him to get better as the season goes along. Plus the Halos are a veteran team with speed and defense to go along with those starters and a great bullpen. Not much power but they seem to have everything else.

I don't expect to beat Weaver but let's see how White does in his second start tonight.

If the pitchers keep pitching well then we have a chance to win tonight and tomorrow. The hitters just need to make the opposing pitchers work for a change. They've made it too easy for the starters on this road trip and haven't put them under any pressure. We need to get these guys pitching out of the stretch and continue the clutch hitting which has gotten us to 21 wins so far.

We also need 6 innings minimum from White. He gave up a few hits in his first start but he doesn't walk a lot of batters. (2 were intentional against Detroit) I hope for another close game that doesn't get too far away from us.

I am not sold on the Angels. Many of these younger pitchers, such as Chatwood, tend to really struggle after going around the league one time, and especially seem to go south after the All Star game. Speaking of that, from 2006-2009, Haren did significantly worse in the second half than first half. Last year was an exception, though.
