I thought the push with Thome was that the Phillies offered him one year more in the contract than the Tribe did? And I agree with peeker when he said "LeBron made it easier for a lot of guys who left to look just a bit better." Works for me! (Heck, even the Bahstun sports guys, both radio and TV, were all over LeFraud when he left. So much fun...)

Adams should get the bleachers named after him not a statue....and didn't Thome have a clause in his contract that if he stayed he would get a statue and he passed on it? If so then no statue for you!

Tough decision. I would want a batter, and someone from this generation of fans.

Most of the heavy hitters of the 90's left in not-so-great terms.

Albert Belle and his misadventures off the field
Jim Thome and his two-faced free agency deal
Man Ram going off to rival Boston, and what he became later

That leaves Kenny Lofton, the Alomars, and Visquel. And Sean Casey ::doh::

Depending on how this season plays out, Travis Hafner was part of two uprisings. But how do you memorialize someone who's still here?
What do you mean Akron isn't in the same market as Cleveland? We're close enough to be fucked by it's sports curse.

Someone from the sell out years would have been a good choice but as noted, the most obvious are also the most obvious as to why they won't get one.

Naming the bleachers after Adams would be a nice gesture. You know though, while it should be many, many more years but when he's finally not able to do this thing any longer I could see placing a stature of him and the drum in his regular spot.

Deleted because with the gibberish gone my post no longer made any sense.
