Back to the game...

Terrific job by Smith, Masterson & Sandy to take LaPorta aside and clear that up. Good to see STO stay with it too. Could clearly see they got their point across and while LaPorta seemed to disagree a bit it wasn't confrontational.

We've barreled up a lot of balls with no results today.

Bud Norris for HOU has 7 K thru 3 IP, and MIL's pitcher put down a sacrifice. So he's got 7 legit K's.

103 for Masterson. How far does Acta push it?

Take away 4 for the IBB.

I think I heard Manning say earlier than Acta said Masterson could go to 120.

Tough matchup here for Masterson. Another lefty on deck and then Miggy.

Has him where he wants him though.

Good call by the ump at 2nd. legit steal there.

Great job Justin.

Had nothing for the first two innings so it was great for him to battle through 7 and suck it up and throw 115 pitches.

Now get him some runs.

I was calling for the changeup and he rolled over on it. Perfect.

Last year, Masterson would have been a five and fly. This year, he settled in and gave us length. Very impressed.

Helluva an outing by Masterson today. First two innings were a battle but just a strong performance from him today.

Now let's get the sticks going and finish the Kitties off.

It is nice having a top of the rotation guy with a big frame. You really can push a guy the size of Masterson or CC Sabathia a tad further than you can a, say, Josh Tomlin.

Don't want to do it every start, but the Indians NEEDED seven innings and got it. So impressed by Masterson. Now go get him a win.

TERRIFIC job by Adam Everett. May have been served letting it go but he accomplished what he wanted tight there.

Just a textbook clinic on bunting right there.

Don't like that Masterson seems to be coming out again though.

Come on, Grady.

I'm most impressed by how Everett has never played third base and if he played every day he'd win the gold glove at that position.

I hate when Grady is up there in a sac fly situation. He swings and misses way too much to be trusted in this position.

Grady is a fantastic hitter. But he is not an RBI guy. That's why mangers keep sticking him at the top of the order.

Makes me wonder how good Grady Sizemore could be if actually trusted himself to hit with two strikes. He gets jumpy with guys in scoring position. Always swings first pitch in those situations. I don't know why pitchers EVER throw him a strike with RISP.

No fuckin clue what Miggy is bitchin about. Why the fuck would we want to hit him there? Fat idiot.

Need Raffy to deal here in a TOUGH situation.

All that said, if the Tigers don't get protection for Miggy in that line-up, he's going to be walked, pitched around and plunked all summer. I'm not sure Victor Martinez is enough protection to stop it, either.

The hope was that Masterson would get Kelly and Cabrera and then use Perez for Boesch. It backfired. Right call with who is available in the pen.

Well, the home win streak was nice while it lasted. It officiallyended when Captain Flammable entered from the bullpen a few seconds ago.

Good news is that the Twins and White Sox still suck. Gavin Floyd imploding on the South Side and the Twins still making Jeff Francoeur look like a major league slugger.
