Good to see OC get a day off. He's fighting it at the dish.

Dont know what else to say but the obvious.....taking 3 out of 4 would be huge, but at least they have guaranteed themselves split.

From WTAM.com on Tomlin
After Jim Bagby, Stan Coveleski and Duster Mails did it in 1920, Mel Harder and Bob Lemon were both 4-0 in 1947. Scott Lewis and Cliff Lee matched the feat in 2008. Tomlin, who won the only open spot in Cleveland's rotation during spring training after going 6-4 with a 4.56 ERA in 2010, has allowed six runs and 12 hits in 19 2/3 innings.
He gave up a pair of solo homers in six innings of an 8-3 win over Baltimore on Saturday. "He doesn't let the game speed up on him," manager Manny Acta told the Indians' official website. "He's very good at damage control when he gets in those types of situations. That's the difference between him and some other guys."

Any team that can win a game with Hannahan and Everett batting back-to-back deserves to be in first place.

FWIW, Down on the farm Travis Buck is making his Clippers debut and has gone 4-for-4 with 2 2B and 3RBI IN THE FIRST FOUR INNINGS!

Dang, I was hoping Tomlin was No-Hitter quality tonight, seems like some of his pitches can be a little wacky.

These guys are playing loose..... nice to see Everett, making his first career start at 2B, turn to Tomlin after starting the DP with a smile on his face and making a gesture that his heart was pounding on that play.

Good fun.

Great job by Tomlin.

That's now 15 quality starts in the last 17 games for Tribe starting pitchers.

Let's hope Sipp has put last nights hiccup behind him.

I don't know how he does it but he keeps doing it. Gotta be perfect pitch placement with his fringy stuff. I'll take it and not ask any questions.

This.

And Sipp has the maturity level of a 13 year old girl. A couple things don't go his way and he's a mess on the mound.

Christ Perez! That was awful...every batter he faced...he put himself in a shitty situation.

I do not know what the stats would be, but is it me or do we always struggle in that very first road series against KC? I swear, since 2006, games like this are more prevalent than anything. Shitty weather (always raining in KC in April) and blowing leads. I was waiting to see Jason Michaels and Josh Barfield pop out of the dugout with boyish frowns.

Not so much blowing the save as the fact that it never should have come down to such a slim lead in the 9th and we wasted a gem from our 4th starter.

Meh. Win 100 games you still have to lose 62. Royals did a great job. Alex Gordon robbed us many hits, and seemed to single handedly even the series. Give 'em credit. It's gonna be fun playing them in the coming years.

Now that my snap judgement phase has passed, on to tomorrow. Took a split while the offense was about as dormant as could be for long stretches of the series.

Fix it tomorrow with your #1 and then hope to steal one of Carrasco v. Liriano or Gomez v. Pavano.

Fix it tomorrow with your #1 and then hope to steal one of Carrasco v. Liriano or Gomez v. Pavano.

Be heartened that when Santana just missed on a ball on the 5th or 6th you could see he was fighting toward the end of his fever. His double the other way later also is a really good sign.

Hate seeing them give games away that they have 95% won but shit happens. Happened to the greatest ever the other night when Rivera got got by the Jays.

Win the next series and you've done well.

We might think back to this one come September.

JFC I hope that was tounge-in-cheek. Melting over this loss as it was somehow worse than the opening day pasting we took. Ledge much? ::doh::
