2nd Favorite Team

Unread postby shamwow imitator » Thu Apr 14, 2011 9:54 pm

This has probably been done here before and if so...I apologize. We all know the hatred towards the Boston's, New York's and Chicago's of the world. But who do you cats root for besides the Tribe? I grew-up actually a Cincinnati (baseball) fan in the mid-70's, until I saw the light of day and jinxed Cleveland forever by pledging my allegiance toward them. But have to say the Reds are probably my 2nd favorite team. Hell, they are a lot closer for me to travel to to watch a game (400 miles away from C-Town). I know it changes from year-to-year...But who else are you guys pulling for in 2011? I'm guessing I won't see many AL teams on this list :salute:

1) Tribe
2) Reds
3) Cardinals
4) Padres
5) Royals/Twins

Nobody. One team.

Assorted players, but only if they're on my fantasy team.

No real place to put this other than here, but...

Cliff Lee tonight: CG 3 hitter, 12 K, 99 pitches, 74 strikes. A 99 pitch CG with 12 K is ridiculous.

Whoever plays the Yankees.

Seriously though, if the Tribe isn't playing, I get incredibly bored with baseball. If it's not a no-hit bid, I can't get into it. Although I do enjoy baseball tonight because it only shows highlights.

Don't really follow any team other than the Indians.

If we somehow weren't a team anymore I'd probably root for the Brewers. Their old logo might be second best. Right behind Chief Wahoo.

But rooting for any team other than the Tribe wouldn't be the same.

Tulo with 5 hits and 2 HRs today in double dip of the Mets. Big fan as well.

He's a witch. 1 HR in each of the 4 games against the Mets. He's carried them to a 10-2 start.

Los Dogyers.

I live a few minutes from the stadium and some good friends have a grip of season tickets so I usually go to at least ten games a year. Like most LA fans though, other than Kemp and Ethier, I don't know shit about them. I'm only there for the girls.

We have family in Philly so I kinda watch what they're up to. If the Tribe isn't playing and Philly is and I'm near the computer I'll stream their game (I'm an addict of the game but I'm definitely a Tribe-a-Holic). I'll cheer them on too if they make it to the World Series. Unless they go up against my Tribe. The all bets are off. Go Tribe!

Probably the Cubs as well because I love Wrigley and have a lot of family/friends from Chicago. Plus their World Series streak dwarfs the Tribe's so I don't feel guilty rooting for a "winner."

Most of my buddies were either Cubs fans (due to WGN) or Astros fans (due to proximity), so I would root for the Cardinals sometimes just for spite. So although I don't follow or pull for anyone other than the Tribe, I guess they would be a #2 for me.

But when they play each other, I'm a Tribe fan through and through.

Reds, my old man always rooted for the Tribe and the Reds. It is very casual with the Reds, for I don't lose any sleep over them, like I have with the Tribe.

I find myself having a bunch of college teams, that I root for.

1.Kentucky
2.OSU
3.Cleveland State
4.Kent State
5.Akron

When it comes to pro sports, they play each other to much, to really love more than one team. IMO.

Sorry Guys....Yankees. It comes from my days on the Euclid diamond wearing the pinstripes of The Panthers, also my neighbor played at KSU with Thurman Munson and Reggie was one of my all time favorite players. Of course if they are playing the Tribe I hate them. Sick, ain't it? :hide:

Tribe is obviously the one and only team, but my favorite NL team is the Dodgers. My Aunt lives in LA and I grew up right when they had 4-5 Rookie of the Year's in a row, Piazza, Karros, Mondesi, Nomo, and they got the classic uni's and hats. And also loved Shawn Green from his Blue Jays days and onto the Dodger days.
Fuck the Browns...

my second favorite team would have to be the Chicago Cubs since I lived in Illinois for a time, if the Indians were not involved in the playoffs and the cubs were in the playoffs I would be rooting for the Cubs to win it all

I never pull for the Cubs to win, because if they do, then that makes the Indians the longest team without a title, now that Boston and the White Sox have one.
