And for everyone who was down on Talbot heading into the season, this is why he's going to stick around. He throws strikes, he can give you 180 innings and he's under the Tribe's control for three more years at rock-bottom prices. The perfect fourth or fifth starter. His ERA will probably be in the low to mid 4's and he really adds depth to this rotation.

Agreed with everything except "he throws strikes". His control is pretty inconsistent.

But he is a perfect 5th starter. Excellent back-of-the rotation guy.

Yeah, Santana and Choo haven't done anything during the streak offensively and we're still winning. That's a great sign, I think.

Damn, this is a blast. I wish we'd add on a little bit later in the game. They're getting way too comfortable with the way the pitching is going.

Agree with Acta both to send Talbot out for the 9th and pull him after the leadoff 2B. If Abreu does that on the 109th pitch, that's one thing. But you're asking a guy to go 120, best case scenario. With a guy who was hurt last year and in his second start this year, regardless of what Talbot thought, it was the right move.

I'm loving this. Let's win another series tomorrow (today).

See people don't even know what the hell to call it. Some places its "Soccer" (USA, Japan, Australia, NZ, Korea), some places call it "football", some "futbol". God only knows what the Canadian's call it - - not that it really matters what they call it any way.

If the average score is like 1-0, you can't catch the ball or touch it with your hands, you don't know what to call it maybe the sport needs some improvement.

Talbot was tremendous last night as the the defense behind him again.

And if Durbin doesn't start getting guys out he's going be the odd man left when Smith comes back.

I had no issue with the Durbin signing (as was discussed somewhere on these pages) but I'll also have no issue with the Durbin release if Pestano or or Herrmann prove to be a younger version of Durbin.

And Pestano has been impressive thus far. Swing and miss stuff early on.

The best part of Talbot's performance is that the bullpen is now fully rested up. Both Perezes and Sipp had gone two straight days of working innings and now they are all ready to go again. Everyone in that pen could pitch today if needed, including Vinny P.

Durbin has sucked so far. Need to bring him in not so close games and maybe he'll build some confidence. But I'm already sick of having to hold my breath every time Acta brings him in.

Peralta has 2 sac flies but only 1 walk. Sac flies don't count as an AB, but do count as a plate appearance.

If all things statistical were equal between Durbin and one of the younger pups I'd stay with the "kid" just because he has more years left.
