I think part of the problem tonight is the Cavs game is on at the same time (and the Jake's attendance shows it). So I'm flipping back and forth between the two, spending the better part of my time with the Cavs. So tonight's game thread is probably not going to get a ton of replies from a bunch of different people for the same reason. But if you want to start game threads, I say go for it. People will join.

Bases loaded w/ nobody out again. Eric Wedge brings up Michaels, to force the guy that just walked the bases loaded to be pulled from the game, rather than give Washington a decision to make. Stupid.

Stewie, that was the dumbest managerial decision I have ever seen. Mahay hit Hafner and walked both Martinez and Garko. Yet Wedge brings Michaels in for Trot...allowing Washington to take Mahay out for Francisco. The net result...righty-righty matchup. Dumbass.

This team has to be one of the worst teams hitting with runners in scoring position. Is there any team worse?

The decision to bring in Michaels was inexcusable. It was borderline mentally retarded.

Mahay had JUST WALKED THE BASES LOADED (after hitting Hafner). So if someone other than a complete moron was making the decisions, here's how it would go:

You don't make a move. You leave Trot Nixon in there. Either he faces the guy who had just walked the bases loaded, or they bring in the righty, which he hits much better than Jason Michaels. You win either way.

Instead, captain dumbass brings in Michaels, which gives Ron Washington the easiest managerial decision of his life to take out the struggling lefty, and bring in the hard throwing righty to face the guy who struggles against righties. It was tailor-made. A yak could have flipped a coin and come up with a better decision than Wedge did there. Completely inexcusable.

Luckily Choo came through and we were able to salvage 1 run out of the situation.

I don't know if the decision to PH Michaels would have gone any better if Nixon had stayed in, but it couldn't have gone any worse. Does it come back to haunt them? Would Nixon have gotten a hit, extending the lead any more? Thanks to Wedge, I guess we'll never know.

See what positive thinking can do?

Haha, anyone seen that commercial for like a insurance agency or something, where they ar eon this like airlift going up a monutain, and a bird lands on the roof and it stops?

Yep, if a starter goes at least 5 innings, leaves with a lead, and the bullpen never gives up the lead (either letting the other team tie it or take the lead), then the starter gets the win. If the score holds, CC gets the win.

Lol, you are really playing with fire now. Jobu will strike. Probably in a different game. A bigger game. But his wrath will be quick and terrible.

He should've pinch hit. I know it doesn't matter now, but Washington left his .113 hitting right-handed catcher hit, rather than pinch hit the left-handed centerfielder. THAT's when you pinch hit. Apparently this game is a contest of which manager can make the dumbest decisions.
