...but I'll take it.

5 runs in the second. We shouldn't have gotten any. In a series of moves that would have made Eric Wedge proud, the Rangers:

1. Throw to the wrong base (Wilkerson throws to 3rd instead of second, allowing Nixon to advance to second on a single to left-center)
2. Throw the ball away on a double play ball (Choo with weak grounder to 2nd base, which would have been a DP ball that would have gotten Rangers out of inning, but Peralta doesn't let Kinsler tag him, and Kinsler ends up throwing ball into the camera bay, bringing in 2 runs and moving runners to 2nd and 3rd.
3. Give up a ground ball RBI single by Casey Blake.

I'm glad we did it, but Padilla pitched well enough to get out of the inning several times. He deserved a better fate.

Glad it occasionally does happen to other teams.

Great baserunning in that inning.

Peralta with the awareness to run back to first and avoid being tagged, and Sizemore stealing the base straight up.

Good fundamentals by us, bad ones by them.

Absolutely. Peralta deserves all the credit in the world for that one. Good running by him kept the inning alive.

I think its important that not only do the fans get on players when they suck it up, but praise them when they do good.

Us cleveland fans tend to hate alittle too much on our own guys.

Peralta is not a bad ball player.

Yes he is. He's awful defensively, and hasn't been able to get it together offensively for the better part of a year.

But he made a really good play there to get us a couple runs. Until I see more, I'll attest that to blind squirrels and nuts.

Peralta sucks. Struck out on three pitches with the bases loaded and one out. And did you see that last swing? What was that? Oh! And Michaels sucks just as bad. Bases loaded, no outs, and he swings at the first pitch. Terrible!

Am I nuts or was Wedge being a total idiot when he brought in a pinch hitter when Mahay was on the mound unable to put the ball within 2 feet of home plate?

You're definately not nuts. Check out the other thread where pretty much everyone in there ripped him for doing that even BEFORE Michaels started his at bat and we had the benefit of hindsight.

I think Peralta will hit, however, a few things,

1. I think that giving him credit for a baserunning fundamental any middle school player is a little much. Just like when an announce says in football, "great awareness by that young man getting out of bounds to stop the clock." Not really great awareness, just not being a total moron and doing what you're supposed to do,

2. Throwing the ball away on the double play in the first, wasn't an error but....

3. Catching a line drive that Torii Hunter hit Monday was not an error but....

I agree, he's not a bad ball player, but he's not a major league shortstop.
