Santana doesnt really seem like the guy that would do that type of thing, then again I cant watch the game so I shouldnt be one to talk.

Didn't see the first one. The second one was definitely intentional.

It was a fastball on the first pitch of the at bat right into Hafner's shoulder/upper bicep.

I'd have whacked the next guy up if I were Carmona.

I would guess that a guy with control like Santana is doing it on purpose. It's one thing if a non-stud is doing it, but you don't win two Cy Youngs by losing control like that.

He was definitely doing it on purpose. He hit Vic on the first pitch right after Pronk's HR. Then later he hit Pronk with a purpose pitch. Santana's trying to intimidate. It won't work with Pronk. You can't scare him.

Looked like the umpire warned Santana to knock it off. Last thing we need is Pronk getting hit in the face like 2 years ago.

I just saw the highlights and now have no doubt that Santana's beanballs were intentional. Hafner and Martinez? Punk. Will be a horrible shame if he takes a linedrive off the kneecap this season.

Santana has amazing control. The first one was the first pitch to the next batter after Hafner hit one like 800 feet to dead center. The second was Hafner. Santana hadn't hit a batter all year. He's hit five batters in the last two seasons, spanning 465 IP.

While it's easier to hate on Detroit and Chicago because of proximity and rivalries in basketball ... the Twin rivalry has clearly been the nastiest and most heated of the three in the Jacobs Field Era. And the Indians will respond to this at some point.

Not that they aren't already, but it really makes Indians-Twins some intriguing viewing the rest of the way.

Tribe officials shouldn't wait to respond, they ought to talk to the AL office now about it. It was obvious to anyone who was paying attention what Santana was up to last night. Are we just going to do nothing until Hafner gets hit in the face again?

Twins & Chisox are the two dirtiest teams in terms of HBP, and if they can get away with it now, they'll keep pushing the envelope. They should be called on it.
