I haven't seen much of the game until now.....but looking at the play by play on line it shows Sowers had a shutout going into the 7th inning. Why should Wedge have taken him out? Was he laboring? Okay, so he gave up a solo HR....he got the next guy out and had two outs. I'm not sure I see the point here....

But, if he was laboring and struggling all night I may see it.

THAT should have been the signal to yank him

Sowers pitched well through the first six innings. Not dominant, and he actually got helped out by some good luck (thinking of the double play right to Honny.) Still, his pitch count was low (don't no what it was exactly, but considering he finished with only 88 pitches, it had to have been fine.)

I could see getting somebody warming up after the home run, but it's not critical. I don't see anybody being up and ready by the time the three runs were scored. In any case: three runs in seven innings, not bad - if the Indians lose this game, it's on the offense.

By the way, considering the "urgency" placed on wanting to make the move to the bullpen...the relievers ERA is 3.40 (10th MLB) and OPS against is .611 (7th). Not Bad.

And now: Blake on second(!) for Pronk...to get intentionally walked.

Thanks Jumbo....that's what I was looking for.

Hey look! Gardenhire walks Hafner with a base open to pitch to Victor. At least someone in the AL Central has a clue. Hope Wedgie is taking notes.

Sowers had thrown 70 pitches heading into the 7th inning, gave up the home run, then had men on the coreners with 2 outs. The guy that was up is 1-a lot from the right side and hits a baltimore chop for a double.

Like most have said, Wedge is an idiot. But blaming things on him in hindsight makes you worse.

Wow, way to swing the bats there in the 10th. I'm really starting to dislike Michaels, and saying dislike it putting it kindly.

The Twins are a bullpen factory. They need to patent whatever they do in the minors, because it is a gold mine. The relievers just keep coming, and coming, and coming....

Safe for another inning. So do they walk Hafner right out of the gate? Or at the very least pitch around him? Nobody else has been worth much tonight, although Vic does have a HR to his credit.

Random thoughts:

The Twins leadoff "hitter" is execrable. Simply terrible. Sowers pitching to him is like someone pitching to Rouse or Barfield. Of course you let Sowers pitch to him. Blind Squirrel Theory, that.

Rouse turned a double play: was it nice, or tailor-made?

We score in the 12th or we lose.

Tailor made double play. Hit right to Honny, toss to Rouse, and Morneau was running, and he's not exactly Jose Reyes on the bases.

Runners at the corners with nobody out. Is it a bad sign that I'm hoping they don't screw it up and are able to get one run out of it?

I dunno. I was just thinking that I would take a run-scoring double play.

Edit: single works there!

All I want is one more run. Enough so that it's a save situation, but not enough that Borowski is in implosion area (like with Chicago and that one game in that big city with all those rich people that otherwise shall go unmentioned).

Shin-Soo Choo now has as many hits with the bases loaded as the rest of the Indians combined in 2007.

(I'll take it)

Now, can Rouse raise his average to ... a positive number?
