If we lose, my children won't be able to read any posts, as I will have thrown both the TV and computer out the window.

If Mastny is still available in the pen, bring him in. Otherwise, bring in Jason Davis.

Leave Joe B in reserve in case of disaster is brewing.

As much crap as I give Blake, I can't fault him for those LOB. He hit it hard, it was just a really nice play by Punto at 3rd.

Uh oh. Hope Borowski doesn't get too comfortable sitting down.

For late defense, Shoppach comes into catch and Victor shifts over to 1st.

I think it is clear they fear Garko playing 1B too much.

You may be right, but they may also want to leave one of our three serious offensive weapons in the lineup in case something goes wrong.

Which it didn't, BTW: nice close-out by the Old One.

Fears unfounded. Great job by the pen tonight. They're my MVP of the game. Finally got some clutch base hits. We've been relying on the long ball way too much as of late. Hopefully this gets them going.

Just for clarity, I didn'thave an issue with Shoppach coming in for late defense. To be honest, I think it should happen a little more often.

It leaves either Garko or Victor without a spot in the lineup. The best thing to do is to leave in the better defensive first baseman. Tonight's answer to that question is Victor is perceived to be better defesively.

Unless that answer changes, I think it means Garko becomes trade bait IF Hafner signs an extension. Otherwise Garko waits for Pronk to depart and takes over the DH role full time in 2009 (or sooner).
