Don't read too much into that gt, I beat up Gibson & his boys pretty good (Josh hitting 1 mealy dinger) and you can see where I'm at, for now.

Makes perfect sense given last 6 weeks though.

Also, can someone explain how my DH got hurt for 15 games by lining out? Did he line out off of his own head? The guy doesn't even play the field, and he wasn't hit by a pitch!

You're welcome.

I know you're not very observant, or quick for that matter peeks, so I'll give you some FYI, there is an expanded standings view. It gives expected standings based on rosters and schedules and it uses some sort of simulation or algorithm. It's not about being better than guys that never played before, my point is that my team is significantly under achieving in the early going. Just a little disappointed for now, I mean I can't play you EVERY series.peeker643 wrote:FUDU wrote:.... I'd be right where I'm projected.
Face down in an opium den with your backup SS Tommy Corcoran or ahead of guys who have never played??

Maybe your boys are playing exactly up to snuff against the competition in the league though Donny. Your hacks didn't earn their numbers against the best ever. This league features the best ever. Ergo you're fellas are doing exactly what they should.
Now, my 1.57 WHIP is clearly an aberration. There I can agree with you.
But I like your moxie (I feel the need to use such words in this league for some reason).

Dude, if you're going to come here, drop trou, take a giant steaming dump on my team, and then lament the fact that it still somehow smells just as good as yours, the least you could do is call me by my name. You know Scratch, Scratcher, His Scratchness, El Scratcherino if you're not into the whole brevity thing.
If you want to know why I'm outperforming my Pythagorean, it's because my whole team is scrappy as hell. Like a bunch of David Ecksteins. Your worst nightmare.

It's also easier to check the score, then go to bed.
That way you can justify a belt or two to get to sleep and you don't have to go into work with liquor on your breath.
You're not all that sharp. Maybe that's why you're struggling.![]()
Oh...I also suggest you talk to Keith Law about all this.

When I played this in my youth we had a draft. Lineups were;
Cobb
Wagner
Ruth
Gehrig
Hornsby
Shoeless
Robinson
Bench
Big Train Johnson
...or something like that.
This cap thing makes me empathize with Shapiro.

90's league started last night too. 0-3 start. Loaded my rotation ... and Randy Johnson, Dennis Martinez, and Fran Viola all got shelled.
Not too many feelings more hollow than the 0-6 Strat night. Only losing a loved one and the 0-9 Strat night are worse.

Normally this would be enough news on that subject aside from the making fun of the owner of TCE.
However, the real news is who has assumed a share of the lead in that division (Thanks to his 5-1 record against me and my dominance over TCE). FUDU is Lazarus. After a horrible start he's right in the thick of it.
If not for my own tremendous success this fact would make me a bit sick.
So thank God for my own tremendous success (and now that I've gloated let the injuries and losing streak begin God- because you are vengeful God).

It's leveling out some now but what struck me through the first 30 games or so is just how far behind the pitching was to the hitting. Guess the all time mashers are gonna mash. Never heard of 1911 2B Larry Doyle but holy crap. And Mike Schmidt and Hack Wilson put up freaking softball numbers against the very best.
An abundance of all time great pitchers with ERAs over 5.00 and WHIPs in the 1.6 or above range.
Also stunning is that the 1988 version of Eric Plunk is a goddamn monster. I'm sure he'll revert to his norm but an ERA under 2.00 and second on the team in wins and FOURTH in IPs?
Strange game. But brutally addictive. Last thing I check if I'm up late enough for the games to take place or first thing I check in the morning.

Strat is like Xmas for 54 straight days, be good and do your work, the anticipation the night before, and then wake up and see what you got.
If Plunk is 4th in IP that is not good peeker, but spin it anyway that makes you feel better, I know I do.An abundance of all time great pitchers with ERAs over 5.00 and WHIPs in the 1.6 or above range.
