Wedgism

he has Rouse hit with the bases loaded (any other manager would pinch hit)

he doesnt have our best bullpen arm warming up when Borowski gets into trouble (where was K-Brera wedge)

he brings our closer in in a non save situation (Betancourt was lights out and we desperately needed the morale boosting win)

he pitches to the best hitter in baseball at the moment with first base open

10HR 27 RBI's and a .357AVG after 13 games not scary enough to avoid??

Okay, now, look, I have been lobbying for Wedge's replacement for a while, but with Nixon ill, your pinch-hitting options for the LEFT-handed hitting Rouse against the RIGHT-handed reliever are:

1) Kelly Shoppach, currently hitting .150
2) Andy Marte, currently hitting .150
3) Josh Barfield, currently hitting .150

All three batters hit right-handed and have platoon splits.

If there's a good alternative there, I'm missing it.

Barfield> Rouse

Rouse saw a massive 8 pitches in his 4 at bats today

Yeah, valid point. I have not been impressed by Barfield's approach at the plate, either, though.

Hey, at some point, the guy has to produce or he loses his job (to Inglett, ostensibly). I'm not nearly as up in arms about Rouse hitting as the other moves.
