For young catcher Wilson Ramos.

Supposedly a done deal, but not yet official.

Dont know anything about Ramos but Capps has looked very good the past month of so. Had some early troubles but in the last month his ERA is around 1.00 or so and has notched something like 9 saves (got him on my fantasy team). He should add stability to the back end of the bullpen missing Nathan.

Methinks they could have gotten something better for Ramos than Matt Capps.

I know they don't need Ramos with whoever is catching up there, but Ramos was a highly sought after commodity.

Yeah, wasnt he the centerpiece of their Cliff Lee offer? I know Cliff Lee, and you Matt Capps, are no Cliff Lee.

He has a .625 OPS in Triple-A this year. No, they really couldn't have gotten anybody better this season.

Tend to agree, at least not the Pirates version of Matt Capps, which I'm sure he will digress back to at somepoint.

Yeah, the guy in AAA at 22 who has just 214 ABs at the AA level. I think the Twins rushed him along in the event that they couldn't re-sign Mauer.
