Kerry Wood rehab in Akron tonight - perfect inning, 8 pitches, 8 strikes.

How exciting that it looks like he could be back over the weekend!

The sooner Wood is back, the sooner the Indians can pay someone to take him.

Looks like Talbot might be hurt.... crap

After needing 7 innings from the pen last night we're going to need it again tonight.

Looked to be favoring his side after the 2nd inning, but they sent him back out for the 3rd and he just looked stiff.

They're calling it a "mid back strain".

Thanks. Doesn't sound to bad. He'll just get a "happy ending" massage and be back next week.

One of the few nights the Indians have had in awhile to play for something. (getting out of the basement)

No such luck.

I bet Todd, after going two innings last night and being trotted back out there again tonight, is headed straight back to AAA after the game.

The Jensen Lewis express will be on it's way to Toronto me thinks.

Holy hilarity, a 1-2-3 inning from the golden arm of Andy Marte.

Holy hell that's hilarious. Way to go, Marte!

Well he can have a go at the pitching when he gets DFA'd and nobody picks him up!

I'd think the rest of the BP would be a wee bit embarrassed.

Did Marte even take warm ups in the bullpen?

89mph.

Best part of him pitching was they kept the DH so he didn't have to hit.

Now we know why Hodges got DFA'd instead of Marte. I don't think Hodges strikes out a .300 hitter on three pitches.

Marte went to Carmona before the inning and asked him to show him how to grip a sinker. Hilarious. Good thing Tim Wakefield isn't on the team. Then he starts pitching from the stretch and switches to the windup. And he still throws a 1-2-3 inning and gets the best hitter in the league out (Cano).

Acta made another boneheaded decision in letting Sipp pitch to Jeter with two out and a runner on 3rd with the score tied and Granderson on deck. Jeter rips a line drive single to drive in the go-ahead run and then Sipp gets Grandy to foul out. Even the announcers were calling for Jeter to be intentionally walked. In the end it didn't matter, but I would have been pissed if the Tribe lost 2-1.

I watched that entire game hoping and praying that we'd see a position player pitch. I took a piss after the bottom of the 8th and I came back and my buddy says "I'm not going to ruin it and tell you who it is, but you're going to love it." I laughed the whole inning. It was great.

Castrovince said it best when he said "Aaron Laffey is jealous of Marte's velocity."

Next time let's have Choo pitch the 8th and Marte the 9th. :lmfao:

Now Marte can spend the rest of the season giving the staff shit about their ERA's.
