Announcement Will Be Made In Near Future With Information On The Rescheduled Games

CLEVELAND, OH ---- The Cleveland Indians announced tonight’s (April 9) scheduled doubleheader against the Seattle Mariners has been postponed due to inclement weather.

Fans must hold on to their tickets from entire Seattle series (April 6-7-8-9) for potential makeup games or use for a ticket exchange for any remaining 2007 regular season home game at Jacobs Field. An announcement will be made shortly on the rescheduled games.

Dude, this is beyond laughable to me. I really, really, REALLY hope MLB sets up some better way of making these schedules in the future. I have no problem opening at home, but for God's sake, open up with teams in the Central, whom you play 196843287 times a year.....don't open with teams you won't see again until Haley's Comet returns.

I say the Indians should throw a fit and make Seattle come back to CTown on a day off and make the who ever the fuck from where ever the fuck come hereon another date as well, after this debacle (especially after the Hargrove stunt). Playing in Mil. is not home playing in Jacob's Field.

Once again MLB proves why they are the laughing stock of the big 3 sports leagues.

The more I think about this the more it pisses me off. This could have a HUGE impact on our season.

People might say it is only 3 games but those were supposed to be 3 games on OUR home filed giving us a scheduled advantage, if this team turns out to be great at home and we lose these we can always look back and say what if, and that is just not right.

I also heard that it was two common off days. And that one of them was followed by the Indians having a 1:05 game on the road the next day.

My guess is that one doubleheader will be scheduled on one of the common off days. And the other doubleheader will be slated for the day after the end of the regular season ... if necessary.

so what about home field advantage at all. I realize its not like football, but what about when we play in Anaheim, are we going to play in Arizona instead?! This is ridiculous

The ONLY good thing I have heard about this whole thing, is that the tickets are only $10.00 and a lot of kids are on spring break in that area. The rest is a comedy.

I'm surprised no one has brought up how this has a significant impact on team revenues. The 4-game Seattle set was wiped out, and the 3-game Anaheim set is wiped out. That is roughyl 1/11th of the total income on the year caput.

I haven't read up on much of this yet as I didn't have time, but from what I heard DiBiasio say on the radio, is the Indians pretty much lose the revenue they would have got from the 3-game Anaheim series at the Jake. And, whenever those Seattle games are made up, you are likely to not have anywhere near the turnout for those, if they are ever even made up.

DiBasio said it on the radio....they know they are getting screwed over and they are losing tons of revenue....but bottom line they need to get their players out on the field and playing.

I'm not saying it makes zero difference, I just think brutal cold trumps much of it. An example would be Seattle's infield Friday. The balls they misplayed weren't because of the unfamiliarity with the Jake. They were because they would have rather been any place on Earth because of the freezing temps. Ski caps inder their hats, hands in the pocket till' the last second.....

At least the park effect is neutral. I think (hope) the Indians will be compensated financially for this. After all, it was the leagues error and they should pay.

Let's just hope our pitchers remain intact, Vmart is better, and we get to make Grover fly to C-town to play double-headers when his team is 15 games under .500.
