Closer Update

Reports from my sources are telling me that Shapiro is very close to signing Dustin Hermanson for closer.
Shapiro flew to Phoenix to interview and negotiate with Hermanson and his agent. My source revealed that after Tampa Bay stopped pursuing Hermanson, the Indians were next in line. Shapiro apparently applied the "Borowski medical test". Upon completion of interview with Hermanson and agent Shapiro stood up from the table , walked a few feet away and placed a very generous contract offer on the floor. He then told Hermanson if he could walk over and pick up the contract, the offer was good.

Hermanson slowly walked over to the contract, reached down, winced a little bit but was able to pick it up.

Hermanson should be signed shortly, look for a news conference by Friday.

I bet he picks stuff off the floor faster than an 82 year old Robert Hernandez.
