Don't know squat about the other guys involved in this deal, but I got no problems seeing the ChiSox trade McCarthy outta the division. Danks is a top prospect, but prolly still half a season away at the least, soft throwing, and has kinds underwhelmed in the minors from what I've seen after being one of the top overall picks a couple years back.

Plus, they dealt Garcia a couple months back. Garlands never wowed me, Vasquez has been up and down in the AL, and Contreras may be 45 years old for all we know. Buehrle fell apart last year late too.

To me, McCarthy is on the verge of a breakout. ChiSox are gonna end up regretting this one IMO.

Interesting trade. I am not sure what the White Sox are doing here....whether they are clearing room for Zito....or they have something else up their sleeve.

THat said, if they don't fill the rotation through a trade/FA, this works well for the Indians....
