Indians to sign Ron Villone?

Unread postby British_Pharaoh » Sun Nov 26, 2006 8:36 pm

not to be announced until saturday once the arbitration deadline passes

http://nysportsdog.blogspot.com/

he's a lefty a big innings eater out of the pen but I'm not too crazy about the 4.78 career ERA

despite a poor overall 2006 he did have a 2.27ERA pre All Star break in 44innings it just went all down hill after that.

he restricted lefties to a .179AVG last year and to a .202AVG over the last 3 seasons, teams like the yankees have misused him in recent years which has led to his not so impressive numbers.

Its clear he's a reliever who can only go 1 inning per appearance. He's actually faced almost twice as many righties as lefties but still holding a .262opponents AVG against RHB.

I know there's going to be idiotic 'fans' who will just see his ERA and say he's a bum etc

but dig a little deeper and realise that teams like Florida and the yankees misused him then you'll see its a great pickup.

And you are confident in Eric Wedge to utulize him better because he handles pitching staff so well?

the baseball world still cant believe Girardi, Buck, Baker and Robinson were fired and Wedge still has a cushy job where he has the GM wrapped around his cock

I turned 13 last week you doodiehead. Seriously, he said that Wedge has Shapiro wrapped around his cock, honestly, I have no other plausible explanation Wedge's continued employment, but to quote you:

Sorry, i guess you must be one of those Indian "fans" who think anything the Indians FO does is wrong.

To be honest, I have been proven right more than wrong lately with that philosophy.
