"Meantime, according to a league source, the Nets and Cavaliers are prepared to offer five-year contracts with a first-year salary of around $4 million to Wizards restricted free agent forward Andray Blatche when the free agency period opens July 1."

Not sure I like this. Blatche has been weak on the interior. He's got soem great upside, but not sure if he fits.

I think I'd rather force myself to drink a case of Blatz than waste cap space on Blatche.

Hmmm....I know this is a rumor and all....but is this an indication that Gooden is being moved? Or, that they will not resign Andy, and instead use him in a sign and trade? I don't see how this guy would fit if Gooden and Andy were both here (along with Z).

But why would we want to downgrade? Blatche doesn't have the interior presence of a Gooden and that should tell you something. He's got nice upside, but why waste most of the MLE on a young player who's still developing and not as good as what you've got. I'd much rather go after Kapono with that money because I think he'd help us more.
