Cavs-Spurs - Game 2 Thread

Unread postby Hi Oktane » Sun Jun 10, 2007 8:32 pm

Thought I'd get it started here a 1/2-hour out. Just read Windhorst's latest blog. Here's the link in case some of you haven't seen it:

http://blogs.ohio.com/cavaliers_blog/

Some insight here on guarding Mr. Longoria tonight:

--Sounds like Mike Brown is planning on using LeBron and Daniel Gibson a lot on Parker and maybe even Sasha Pavlovic. The goal will be to use big guys and give him space so he has trouble getting good looks at the basket and will take jumpers more. This is a total pick your poison choice and Brown knows it. The Spurs were shooting almost 40 percent on 3-pointers in the playoffs before they missed a boat load -- many of them going in and out -- in Game 1. Parker will happily kick the ball out and so will Duncan.

I know they've earned the right, but don't the Spurs come off a bit cocky in their interviews. Guess you have to be confident, but hopefully the Cavs will use those comments (i.e., Duncan saying it's intimidating being a young team and it doesn't make it any easier having a young leader) as motivation.

This might get ugly quick.

Why is LeBron sitting, in the first freakin quarter, of the biggest game of his career to date?

Brown gambled, and it didn't pay off. We'd have called him an idiot if LBJ picked up his third on a drive to the bucket. Whether he's on the court or on the bench, the Cavs need someone else to do SOMETHING. Otherwise, doesn't much matter whether Lebron is out there or not.

We appear to attempt fast breaks more/better when LeBron isn't the one with the ball?

That makes so little sense, Snow pushes it more than Lebron lately.

Memo to Mike Brown: prevent Hughes from making decisions as much as possible.

WTF is Mike Brown doing?

Absolutely no way you take Lebron out. I don't care if he has 4 fouls in the 1st quarter. This is not a regular season game, this is a much needed game, and you have to have faith in your superstar to now get any cheapies.

Plus, we know Lebron is well learned in coasting on the defensive end. :P :-P

Buck up!

Great season. I'm still proud and up on this team. We're just not there yet. Hopefully we are hungrier, the front office does a better job, and Bron stays healthy and keeps the faith he can get it done here in C-town.

I'm more on the Mike Bibby bandwagon now than ever, though. Is he an FA or will we still need a trade?

Gotta have that second vet scorer.

Brown has to at least go down fighting with his best on the floor.
It is embarrassing to watch without the team putting forth their best effort and that can only happen with LeBron on the court.

LeBron is definitely going to need to duplicate game 5 from the Detroit series just to keep this one close, problem is he will need to get it started in about 5 minutes.

It's as if we have never played organized ball before tonight.

Don't get it after hanging around well in the first 17 minutes of game 1.

BTW anybody else having to log back in every time they make a post or visit the forum?

Ths game is far from over.....but ain't looking good so far. I am not giving up yet.

Although, Mike Brown didn't help matters. Just a dumb move on his part sitting Lebron. Would Doug Collins/Phil Jackson sit Jordan in the same situation? No way.

And JB, I am with you, I want Bibby. Imagine if we had acquired him at the deadline?

Is Hughes moveable in the offseason?

If they're going to wing, Lebron better hit a few of those 17-19 footers.
