This was the type of game I was talking about keeping us in this series even going down 1-0. We lost sure, but not a bad effort, we really had them on the ropes in the first half and came out poorly in the first 3 minutes of the 3rd.

I'm disappointed but not worried.

Z might be a big key for the next few games, they have no answer for him.

Lebron needs to be a bit more assertive in certain spots.

While I agree after watching the replay, but that was the designed play coming out of the timeout. Sheed was way late on coming over to help. Personally I'd like to see LBJ take a page outta Kobe's book by throwing an occasional elbow into someones grill. Detroit knows how he is and the are gonna be the agressors...................the only thing we have to hope for is that they realize they can hang with them and remember what they were able to do last year by coming back into the series. But to me this was more gut wrenching than last years blowout in gm1.

Tonights game does mean something for the Cavaliers.

The Cavaliers team is fragile mentally and emotionally. A Piston win tonight despite a great Cavaliers game or a Pistons blowout both would have been devastating to this group especially considering who this series is against.

But not so much the case with how we played and controlled Detroit tonight. We forced Detroit to do things they didn't want to do tonight, that is a big deal.

We have something to build on for game 2 this time around, unlike last year after game 1.

The Pistons are actually the ones who stole a win tonight.

These are my thoughts on the game tonight

1. Lebron was very disappointing, and I'm going to leave out the debate of the final shot. Even if you feel he should have taken it, that one moment pales in comparison to not scoring the last seven minutes of the game.

2. They just can't give a free throw overlay to another good team. They just won't win this series shooting a poor percentage.

3. The point guard play - handing the ball to Lebron is cleary not going to work this series. They are bringing the double team quick and blanketing him as soon as he gets the hand off. Eric Snow subbing at the point is also wating our time.

4. It seems their stategy, verified by Hamilton in the postgame interview was to gamble a bit more on bringing the double team early on Lebron and leave some guys open for shots. The Cavs HAVE to hit those wide open looks. If the Pistons don't get penalized for that D it's going to be a long series.

5. For God's sake run the offense thru Z. They can take Webber out of the game and perhaps start to move Lebron so he's not smothered the instant he gets the ball.

6. Drew Gooden is approaching the most frustrating NBA player of my lifetime. The first six minutes of the game he's doing it all, the last three quarters I couldn't tell you if he was in the arena.

Disappointing. Man they coulda had this game.

I did watch the replay, and Weed would have fouled him. LeBron wasn't right at the basket. He was a good 2 or 3 feet away, and Weed was just on the other side of the basket. Maybe he makes a tough layup. I'm certainly not going to fault him for trying. But he almost certainly would have went to the line.
