Relax, people agree Lebron should have taken the shot, but it wasn't the worst play ever, the shot he created for somebody else was a relatively nice play, a very open look.

If it went in we wouldn't even be discussing it most likely.

On the road, wide open from the shortest three point distance... Again, if you want to pick on Lebron for the entire game, I would entertain that argument, if you're going to keep complaining about the last play...

Yeah, because the TNT is the be-all, end-all of everything basketball.

I believe at the beginning of the playoffs there were posts about how the TNT crew is there as entertainment only. That their knowledge of basketball, at least from an analysts perspective, is shaky at best.

I honestly think that depends on Brown. He has to figure out a way to make it so that they can't double team him immediately. Maybe some cuts to the hoop, maybe screens, I dunno. But I think he's going to have to learn to move without the ball.

That and someone cosistantly able to scorch them from outside. But lets be realistic here, the chances on that happening consistantly over a 7 game series is highly unlikely. And thats exactly how Detroit is gonna play us the rest of the series..............it's that simple. I will say LBJ not getting to the line was a joke also.

The Buckeyes winning a NAtional Championship has no affect on TCE. The Bucks are in Columbus, not Cleveland.

Anyway, Lebron needs to be much more assertive on offense in Game 2. I could give TWO SHITS if he was an assist short of a triple double. Dude scored TEN POINTS. Which is like 18 or so below his regular season average. If he averages 10/10/9 the rest of this series, we are getting swept.

I don't care if we lost by 1 point or 20 points. It is a loss. The only ones who take anything positive away from a "3 point loss" is the fans. Gotta go out and win Game 2. Period. We go down 0-2, and this series will be on the brink of a laugher 4 or 5 gamer.

Everyone's talking about LeBron passing up on the final shot. The way I saw it, when he drove to the hoop and saw Rasheed coming at him, he panicked, pure and simple. Rasheed had 7 blocks already and seemed to be getting in the path of every shot. I understand that if Donyell hits the shot we're all hailing LeBron as the hero but the fact is I think it was less about giving it to Marshall for the game winner than fear of Rasheed blocking it. Regardless of whether or not the play was scripted for Donyell, LeBron should definitely have taken the shot, and I think he choked.

Still, I think the Cavs will win in 6.

I really don't think it was a matter of "choking" or "fear" or "panic" on LBJ's part. I don't think LeBron ever had any thought of taking the inside bucket. His intention all along was to give the ball up to the shooter and go for the win.

after thinking about the "play" all day I look at it this way.

There was a play/game plan determined during the time out.

It was either go for the win or try to just extend the game, seeing as we had no TO's and there was enough time left for Detroit to do something even if we did score 2 points the plan was most likely go for the win.

Which leads to two options: A) LeBron creating whatever he can and if the shot is there and LeBron is comfortable with it then the call is his. B) LeBron creates, and if there is nothing for him there but there is an outlet then it is LeBron's call as well.

LeBron simply made the call, probably all along going with the win scenario in the back of his mind due to the clock situation. Seeing as he hadn't got a call all night he most likely figured even if he did get a layup he wouldn't get a call with it or that the odds were 50/50 on a ref blowing the whistle and it only ties the game at best anyway.

It was not a bad play the way it turned out by any means b/c it was an WIDE open look. It is just a play that did not go down as a success and it is and will be way over analyzed for a long time, case in point the TNT bafoons talked about it for an hour last night, of course just repeating what they said ten minutes earlier for 60 minutes.

I thought it was pretty straight forward. They went for the win instead of the tie. Period. No one else is going to drive to the hoop to set up LBJ for the shot, so LBJ set up one of his teammates instead. Probably the best option we have for that shot too.

I had no problem with it whatsoever. My problem was with The Save Yourself for Overtime Plan employed by The Global Icon during the first 47.75 minutes of regulation. What a fucking joke. Hey TGI, even Dirk Nowitski was asking where you were last night. Scottie Pippen's Migraine thinks you're an embarassment & John Starks' '95 Game 7 jump shot was heard wondering aloud--where the fuck is he?

I am not sure if you guys realize but Marshal was WIDE open, plain and simple, Lebron absolutely did the right thing

when you play on the road you always go for the win and not the tie

I do believe watching that game that Lebron will never have that killer instinct that Jordan had and its not even close...very sad cause I think he has more talent than Jordan at these points in their careers

The difference being the bafoons on TNT were talking about it as if it was the end of the end for the Cavaliers, as if they have nothing to take away from the game except that moment of disappointment.

Where as I, as already stated, am a bit disappointed (nature of being a fan) but not worried in the least as the TNT guys are. I see it as the Pistons kind of stole a game but in reality they were just holding serve in the first game of this two game home court they have. The Cavaliers have plenty positive to take from game 1, most of it being mental and having to do with confidence.

We pushed them around the entire first half and parts of the second, they never came close to doing that to us last night. They were simply more efficient in their execution and we missed too many open looks. To be honest the last play of the game last night should have never been the deciding factor.
