Pacers as expected are matching Hibbert's offer, which I guess would mean the Blazers will be matching Batum's offer.

I love both Aldridge and Batum, but I see the Blazers slowly slipping in to mediocrity for the next several years.

Aldridge is awesome, as is Batum and they just drafted the best PG in the draft.

That said, you need a big defensive center near LA. He isn't bad, by any means, defensively but he is far more productive (especially on the P&R) with a stud d-minded center next time him, which he now doesn't have.

I got that from Woj, I don't know whether he was the first or not. If true, I can't see why Cleveland wouldn't do the trade. Richardson's deal is nothing to speak of ($2.68 mil in 12, $2.81 mil in 13) and if Humphries actually takes a one year deal, his acquisition is basically meaningless cap-wise.

(EDIT: I in no way mean to act as though it is a done deal, just the current structure as reported)

I personally am not very high on Lillard. Outside Aldridge, Batum, and an overpaid Wes Matthews, they have literally nobody on the team. Luke Babbit is likely going to get big minutes this year. Luke Babitt. Their HC is so green its good he's in Oregon. They have lots of flexibility and are always very active, but as currently constructed IMO they're headed for at best a 10 seed this year IMO. Not a great place to be.

Solid job by the Mavs. 2 new starters in 2 days (Darren Collison and Chris Kaman) plus Dahntay Jones is a solid bench piece. All 3 are signed for only 1 year, so all that salary cap space they were clearing for D-Will will be available in a year for say, a CP3. Its not often that a team improves so much in the short term without jeopardizing their long term flexibility. A+.

Cavs may grab Scola. I don't feel negative about the move, but I'm not sure I feel great.

It certainly doesn't fit into the "trying for a high draft pick so they drafted Waiters" line of thought some here have embraced.

Look, I hope they are right and I honestly hope Demps and NO fucked the Cavs here (the right two players, BTW went 1-3, something I had been harping on for MONTHS).

Could make a good argument there about what we expect to be better after the year, Rondo or Kyrie. (provided Waiters/Zeller are league average)

Personally, I think Rondo will get it because of his +++ defense, because the dropoff from healthy Kyrie with options to Rondo offensively is probably minimal.

TBH, you're right. I only read the first handful of sentences before I got turned off to what I anticipated was more of the same posse jibberish. So Paul has gone against the fray and is the "mature" one of his posse. He was against "the decision" (circus) but not against the decision (going to Miami). Doesn't really change much in my opinion. What happened to that "Pros" guy who used to come on here and say good things about the Cavs and even TT? Did he get banned for being an excessive homer or something?

Those threads always had good entertainment value - {Pros} " The Cav's looked pretty good today and TT had a +/- of +2 " {the rest of the board} "were we watching the same sport? The Cavs lost by 28 points to a lottery team, TT was 1-6 from the line and played 18 minutes against some stiff from Kazakstahn "

Once they start playing games that count I might be able to provide a little entertainment. I'm going to stay away from the more controversial topics, though, like the value of +/- and the performance of a certain power forward. Sometimes things get a little too "entertaining". This year let somebody else be the straw that stirs the drink.

As for this year's Cavs, I'm reminded of the scene from "Hoosiers" where the team is introduced to the community at the start of the season and they start booing and chanting, "We want Jimmy" because the star player didn't come out for the team. The coach raises his hand for silence and says something like, "This is your team. We ask you to accept us for what we are and not reject us for what we are not".

That's Hollywood for you. Fat chance of that happening in real life.

Screw what it means for the NBA and OKC. What does it mean for James Harden? Those with him as a big part of a fantasy team are currently worried this totally freaks him out and he struggles being "the man". Thoughts?

My understanding is that when talking to Presti before the draft, Harden basically said "I don't want to be the guy." Whether or not that has changed, I don't know.

He went 15th in my draft even before he was traded. Hard to see him going much higher than that, even AFTER the trade. About the only guys taken ahead of him that you can realistically jump him over now are Bynum and Aldridge. Not sure if that's typical of all leagues or just us though.
