I would keep Davis, for no other reason than we need depth. Irving was injured last year, and the schedule is condensed in the NBA this year. Backcourt depth isn't a strength.

If he eats minutes, cool. If he plays the role of mentor, bonus. If he decides to play bad boy later in the season, then you part ways. But his cap space isn't worth a whole lot right now, there are no free agents in that range that turn me on.

If TT is the real deal, what's the chances of Antawn finishing the season in a wine and gold?

How do you part ways later in the season?

Trade for whatever you can get (any asset is better then amnesty IMO) or buy him out. In the event of buyout you prorate the buyout of the years of the contract, so it does east a bit more cap space then amnesty, but cap space doesn't mean to much for the Cavaliers.

Unless they think they will be a player in FA. If they think that I'm pretty scared.

If nothing else bury him on the reserves, let him go home if he wants, and play with 14. Remember Eric Snow? Maybe pick up a G on the waiver wire to finish out the season (this is a throw-away year anyhow) since they're not going to be capped out. Then keep or trade his expiring contract next year.

Can you use the amnesty cut after the season starts?

No. Amnesty can be used up to Christmas day (day the season starts) then can't be used again until next offseason.

The Warriors have rescinded the qualifying offer to Reggie Williams, making him an unrestricted free agent. The Cavs need to jump on this.
