Rockets' Yao Ming has decided to retire from the NBA, league sources tell Y! Sports. He informed the league office within past 48 hours.

Truly sad news and one of the biggest "what would he have beens" of all time.

ZachLowe_SI: Yao '06-07: 25-9.5, 2 assists, 2 blocks, PER 26.5, 52% from floor, 86% from line on 8.6 FTAs.

Makes you wonder if someone as freakishly tall as Yao or Oden will ever go that high in the draft again.

Although Yao had the added pounding of his country running him to death for years before he came over.
