CHI traded pick to MIN, who traded pick to MIA. So 31 is probably MIA picking for MIN. Jeez.

Why not?

My goal for today was to get Kyrie, Jonas Val and then later find a way to package the TPE and some of our vets for Iggy. We didn't get our future center so I was still holding out hope we could get our future SF/SG (Iggy).

The dude is 27. How can he be our future anything?

Yeh, I thought he was 25/26..but you're right that he's 27. Still he should be able to contribute at a high level for 5-6 more years right? I think Kobe is already 32/33.

I may be under the delusional hope that if we collected draft picks and drafted well this year and next, offloaded our vets like JJ, Andy, Sessions, Jamison wisely that we could rebuild and be contending again in 3 years. After today and the TT draft that already optomistic hope may be a pipe dream.

How the fuck is it possible for the team with the 1st and the 4th picks not to have the best draft?

I saw this on another site..

http://www.hoopsworld.com/Story.asp?story_id=20170

Alex Kennedy - 06/23/2011 12:35pm EST-

Tristan Thompson's stock is soaring with several hours to go before the 2011 NBA Draft. The Cleveland Cavaliers are considering using the #4 selection on Thompson, the Detroit Pistons are very interested in him at #8 and there are several teams including the Houston Rockets that are trying to trade up in the first round to select him. Many are wondering why Thompson is climbing draft boards all of a sudden, but it makes perfect sense if you delve into the numbers that teams use to project each prospect's potential.

Teams that rely heavily on advanced analytics have Thompson projected as one of the top players in this draft class based on his statistics. As ESPN's John Hollinger recently wrote, the numbers support a Thompson pick. Hollinger has Thompson ranked as the third-best prospect in this class and his statistical rating that takes into account his numbers, efficiency and potential puts him higher than anyone else in the class. Thompson's 16.21 rating puts him ahead of Kyrie Irving (15.14) and Derrick Williams (15.97). The numbers also rank him ahead of some of the best bigs in recent years including Greg Monroe (15.77), Chris Bosh (15.57) and Derrick Favors (15.51).

I've always like E'Twaun Moore's game and thought he'd be a guy that can play at the next level.

Of course, I am an admitted Big Ten honk. Would also be brutal to hear SSS fawn over him if we picked him.

Did we seriously just take another fucking power forward? I thought he was a small forward. What the fuck is the point of taking a PF at four if you are just going to get another one? At this point, I think Harper will be the better pro.

I don't know if that's bullshit or not, but it sounds OK to me.

After my enthusiasm leading up to this draft. The opportunity to have 1 and 4. The potential trade discussions.

I now have no faith in the FO. None. No plan at all.
