Philly did as well as they possibly could have in this series in just winning a game and keeping the others close.

I figured the Spurs were vulnerable, but I didn't figure on them getting housed in the first round like this.

Brand had a great series. Can't wait to see if Miami can handle the bigs.

Memphis - SA was as good a playoff game as you will find and OKC - Denver are headed down the same route.

Tonight is a hoops orgy.

Spurs just delayed the inevitable IMO. I think they lose Friday in Memphis.

And even if they somehow manage to win this series, they aren't getting through Round 2.

Two ridiculous shots at the end of regulation to save the series, shoulda been done, but I still see memphis winning this next game and moving on. Killed my ML bet with Memphis last nite though. I love the way this team is built, and how they play. I'd love to see a healthy rudy gay in the mix, they'd be a series contender IMO.

I don't know what I dislike Dwyer for more:

a.) taking long aromatic sniffs of LeBron's jock

b.) taking 1000 words to say what can easily be said in 100, or

c.) attempting to nerdify basketball talk the same way as baseball talk.

Technically I believe this would be a simple hex. Isn't the anti-hex rooting against the team you want to win so you don't jinx them? So this would be the opposite - maybe the inverse anti-hex? Or the anti-aanti-hex? Of course, you have a point in that we are rooting for a non Cleveland team to fail, so maybe it's some type of parallel universe hex?

No, I want the Heat to win. Lee broke it down that I was an unevolved Cleveland vag and needed to appreciate the Association all pure-like and get in touh with my inner Chineese market. So I'm down. last year I hated Boston and wanted Bron to win, so I'm keepin' it real this year. Besides, love the Heat's swag an how they will bookend this season with 2 chmpionship celebrations. Can't wait for them to run the old farts off the floor in 5 games and shock the world. Then maybe people will STFU about one of our own who just left to make it big, like Ben Orr going to Boston so he didn't get stuck beinging Jonah Koslan.

Bron is set to make us proud and win the title that wasn't possible with Ferry screwing the pooch every time he had capital to improve the team. Besides, the cavs have always been a sorry assed franchise. They should move to like San Diego and be the Conquistidors and have Wilt's cremated ashes coach the team.

In all seriousness, the Heat are a Phil Jackson, Mike D'Antoni, or true point guard away from being as scary good as the hype tried to build them as.

I'm half tempted to go to Boston, grab some C's gear, get my arse into a bar, and get shitfaced with Celtics fan.

But then I will sleep in and be lazy, just watch the game on TV, while screaming and laughing.

A friend invited me to the Celtics-Magic ECF Game 3 last year, harder for me to hate the Celtics after seeing how passionate those fans are. Same for the Knicks at MSG, two insane old school atmospheres.

I'll defend the early 90's Richfield crowds (and it was way before my time, but the Miracle years were supposedly great too) but even at the Cavs' recent peak, the Q doesn't stack up. All the entertainment crap during the game doesn't even give organic crowd noise a chance to take shape. I'd hardly single Cleveland out though, I think it's pretty much in line with the 10-12 other transient NBA mid markets.

Amazing part: they are that passionate about the Bruins, C's and Sawx.

Cleveland yawns and goes back into their orange and brown autoerotic asphyciation and post LBJ that will never change for either of the other two sports.

Howard Beck of the NY Times sums up LBJ in this article.
http://www.nytimes.com/2011/05/01/sports/basketball/01beck.html?_r=1&ref=howardbeck

Especially this quote...
None of that will matter if James cannot, at long last, solve the Celtics. He is 26, eight years into his career and playing in his sixth postseason. He has two Most Valuable Player awards but only one finals appearance and zero rings. James has legitimate help now — the flashy teammates he wanted, in the city he chose — and no excuses for failure
Galley Boys are slop on top of a so-so burger and a bun you coulde get from a Covneninet food mart generic pack. They the Antoine Joubert of burgers; soft, sloppy, oozing grease and cheap sauce and extremely overrated by a biased fan base. I'm still hoping that the plane the Heat fly on goes down in a horrific explosion of fuel, plane parts and bodies and that it crashes directly into Ben Roethlisberger's house.

I hope they find parts of LeBron's body in 6 different counties and that the nose of the plane violated Big Ben's backside.

I hope they find every single part of Chris Bosh other than his balls so they come to the official conclusion that he had none.

I'm still kinda raw about it all. As you may have gathered ;-) ;)

To me this series is pretty simple. If Miami gets behind at any point- 1-0, 2-1, 3-2- they're going to be in major trouble. Because that is a front-running team if I've ever seen one. If they get in a tight spot, look out.

Also, hard to believe this is the first time the Lakers and Mavericks have met in the postseason since the '88 WCF. You'd think they would have collided at some point over the last decade.

I had a double take on that as well. The Mavs story reads quite a bit like the Atl. Braves story, so little to show for such a long run of success (despite Atl winning 1 ring).

Celtics let them get too far out in front. Heat are at their best when things are going smoothly, and they are playing lock down defense. Celtics clawing, but not sure they will have enough to go over the top. No Shaq.

The biggest story of this playoffs is not going to be Bron and the boyz in SB, its going to be the fact Zach Fucking Randolph could lead the 8 seed MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES to 1, possibly 2 or more playoff series victories. Unreal stuff.

Z-Bo is one of the league's best stories over the last couple of years. Here's an original Jail Blazer, a guy who played his way off three different teams, a certified cancer, and now he's turned into not just a terrific player (which to be fair he always was) but a leader and a big-time clutch performer. And in Memphis, no less.

FYI, I am not sure how many people care about this, but they frequently refer to DWest as "Mr. James" on NYC sports talk radio.

Pierce is rumored (I doubt its truth) to have posted the following on twitter after the ejection and then took it down shortly there after. The NBA has confirmed that Pierce was ejected for a "Verbal Taunt."

@paulpierce34: I told Wade I will f*** his mom like how my man D. West did his mans. Thats why I got ejected

You know, I used to think the West/Gloria thing was BS, but the longer it goes on more stuff leaks out from guys that would know and it seems a whole lot more credible.

I didn't think it was true either, but started to change my mind a couple months ago.

I read somewhere - don't remember where - that LeBron went up to his mom's hotel room in Boston (in the playoffs last year), and Delonte answered the door wearing nothing but a towel, and THAT is the reason LeBron quit in the playoffs last year. FWIW.

It would have helped if Dallas could have gotten out of the first round more than once in 10 years.

Rose "tweaks" his ankle at the end of the game. The Atl looked formidable last night and interested in playing for four quarters despite not having Hinrich. Dallas has a bench and the Lakers don't (at least last night). I have this sick feeling that Miami is going to win it and that with each series, things get easier. Someone, help me, please...............................

Heat will be up 2 - 0 before tomorrow. Wade and Bron showing championship character. Boston's inside game and toughness soooooooooooooooooo overated and soooooooooooooo 2008. Old & overated.

Let's get hot! Let's get hot!

( Makes so much more sense than "Let's go Heat" )

After lunch, it's on for the gimpy-Rose apartif before dinner.

So much swag, so laced.

Just embrace it and go with it.

You know you can't cheer the celtics. You cheered Bron last year. So just do it again.

Eyesore is right. The cavs are a sorry franchise and one of the two worst in NBA history. owe them nothing. root for one of your own from Akron.

You're a better man than I am.

I CANNOT make myself say it no matter the reason.

As he walks toward the arena I hope LBJ is between a brick wall and Donte Stallworth driving a F350 and deep into case of Red Stripe.

The NBA Finals could very well wind up the Grizzlies vs the Hawks.

Let that sink in for a moment.
