1st round is for the amateurs. All the peeps that know they'll be there for half the rd 2 games and all the games in the ECF and NBA Finals sell their round ones. Recoup some dollars, brain cells, and strain on the vocal cords for games that actually mean something. Anyone with a brain knows this Bulls team is incapable of beating us at The Q in a game that matters. Save your ammo.

SO what you get in these first round series is all the sons and daughters of the season ticket holders, peeps that bought tickets on Flash Seats just to say they were at a playoff game, and a bunch of other mama lukes that make the overall crowd resemble the Indians opening day insanity.

Cavs home crowds in round one suck. Actually through about game 5 of rd 2. Then they're the best in the league.

After 1 loss, we're suddenly concerned about a Celtics team that we blasted this year? The only games the Cavs dropped were during the integration period, and missing major pieces. It didn't even look like Boston belonged on the court.

The reason Rose has been effective in 3 games is because he can pull up over the screen and kill you on the jumper, something Rondo can't do with any regularity. He'll get his over Mo, but it will take enormous games from Ray Allen and Paul Pierce to match the firepower Cleveland can throw. Garnett is still a shell of himself, Sheed is the smoke monster, and there's nothing even remotely resembling a bench there.

Lets keep things even keeled, it was just one off game. Boston and Chicago are going to be exactly what this team needs to tune up for Orlando or Atlanta.

I didn't think Utah had a prayer in that series, down Okur/AK....but Denver has really been playing some bad team basketball. Lots of 1-5, dumb fouls, etc.

You know how outclasses the Bobs are when you see how HARD they have to work for everything. Everything Charlotte makes is the hard way....and Orlando just seems to be getting open looks every time down. Much more efficient, both ways.

A young guy, who is mature beyond his years, that can get to ANY spot on the floor anytime he wants....that bodes well for the future.

yeup, and for all of his well documented shooting woes, he doesn't take bad shots. An off-season working on the consistency of his jumper should do wonders. His production early on when it was falling was just unreal. Anyone w/ good form that takes good shots should shoot at a better clip then he did for the last 70% of the year.

Just a matter of time for the kid to put it all together.

While I agree on Skiles, I used the word PG for a reason. Reke is a raw freak that is at his best upside somewhere between Joe J and Wade. B-Jenn is a true PG and also plays dirty D at 20.

Many, including myself, considered the Hawks and Nuggs legit threats to put together playoff runs this year. Remember "it's not going to be the Lakers, it might be the Nuggets" talk around the All-Star break?

Both teams still alive, but I thought all year that both should be among the final 8 standing. Sad that the Nuggs have kind of fallen apart without Karl in the coach's box. That's a team that needs someone to hold it together, Chauncey and Melo haven't taken the reigns.

And the Hawks? Wow. Talent laden with no heart. The window on them taking the next step is closing before our eyes. That Bucks run last night was balls.

It's not a question of heart with the Nuggets and Hawks....they are playing hard and generally want it. I feel like part of it is on the coaching staff (The ubuntu in Denver is completely EFFED) and inability to recognize situations and play to strengths. (Atlanta should be completely mauling the Bucks in the paint, but cant/wont) Why the @!(*# is Smoove jacking a 3 with the game in the balance and 11 on the shot clock, with or w/o JJ on the court? Ridiculous.

Both teams fall into lulls where one player decides it's their "turn" to score, and goes 1-1 and forces a bad shot. Game 4 with the Nuggets featured ZERO ball movement, and the whole fourth quarter in Bucks/Hawks was essentially the same. The teams that are performing over their head (Bucks, Chicago, Utah) are doing it with discipline and ball movement.

Agree with ^ that says a first round exit for the Hawks could spell doom for Woodson.

CTB - does Dewey stay on the court or not?

Jennings can shut down Meer far better than the Cats could, they can shoot the three better and Kurt Thomas can annoy Dewey.

They should get swept if Dewey were to keep his head out of his ass. But, as always, that's a big question.

The Magic go as Dewey's foul trouble goes (unless they are playing a team w/ no 3 ball and no post scorer).

Last night the Hawks flat out choked. Nothing to do with Mike Woodson. And it wasn't one guy. They just choked.

They made a little 6-0 run to go up 10, and then the rim shrunk on em. Jennings, Salmons hit a couple buckets. Hawks came down, took poor, quick, rushed shots ... and were short arming em. Delfino hit that ridiculous baseline three to close it to like 2, and they look terrified. Prolly missed 10-11 shots in a row through that stretch. Most were shortarmed choke job shots.

Before the Bucks even took the lead, you could see that game was over.

Magic rolls either of these teams. Five games max.

Woulda been real fun to see the Bucks play em with Bogut. If Scott Skiles isn't the best coach in the NBA, he's right there.
